I mostly play on English realms, but from time to time I need to log onto my Russian characters as well. And I am tired of doing so many clicks in order to launch the client in another language.
Could you please help me create two custom wow shortcuts to launch wow in either english (with one shortcut) or russian (with the other shortcut)?
Why was this thread moved to another subcategory?
I need technical support on what should I write within the shortcut in order to launch game client with a particular language. This is not a UI or macro issue.
But aight, as long as I get my answer, it’s fine.
Anyway, there are command line arguments to open the bnet launcher in Russian, but that wouldn’t automatically change the WoW client to Russian https://eu.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/17615452002#2
To open the WoW client in Russian you can make it use a different config.wtf https://wow.gamepedia.com/List_of_Command-Line_Switches
"...\Wow.exe" -config "...\World of Warcraft\_retail_\WTF\ConfigRussian.wtf"
ConfigRussian.wtf
SET portal "EU"
SET textLocale "ruRU"
SET audioLocale "ruRU"
That would open Wow.exe in Russian. The problem however is, that when the game closes it doesn’t save it back to that .WTF file, meaning your settings will not save and the opening cinematic will play every single time.
I can only suggest you open another thread in Tech Support, go to superuser.com or pester a knowledgeable GM on how to properly have a shortcut between Russian and English WoW
