Cypher gear not upgrading

I have reached Cypher Equipment Level 2 but the gear dropping from World and daily quests is still at 233.
I read that it may also be reputation driven as well and that you need 3000/6000 for the upgrade to happen. I have 3700. So I can see no reason why the upgrades haven’t kicked in yet.

As an aside it also seems ridiculous that these upgrades are hidden behind reputation (If that is the case) given the slow nature of rep farming in 9.2.

(I understand that gear you already have will not upgrade. I am only talking about new drops).

Same here. gear level 2/6, rep 3780/6000 (as you say “if that matters”).

Also put in an in-game bug report.

Same issue for me as well. I can’t quite say whether the cypher abilities on gear upgraded or not. I wanna say the tele distance got larger, but not sure. I could be imagining that.

So… I just logged in my Mage, who is the only other char I have in ZM.
She needed 30 more cyphers to get lvl 2/6 gear, so I learnt a few things and…
Now she sees 239 gear on the daily quest.

I’m sure they are punishing my main as this happened at launch too.

My Cypher gear is stuck at 2/6 instead of the 3/6 that the console says (current rep 5375/6000) so it’s most likely story locked.

I read on a US forum that anything currently researching is NOT counted toward your numbers until the research is complete (although the numbers seem to update at the top). Don’t know if this is true or not but it would explain why some people are getting upgrades and some are not.

Some research takes three days to complete.
So long I sometimes forget I even started it.

I am way over of the starting of 2/6 ( with 200 point) my rep is 4450/6000…WQ still 233 ilvl reward…

So just to be clear, the exitsting Cypher gear cannot be upgraded, only the new ones are affected by the reseatch level?

I have rank 4 cypher and 4260 rep, WQ now gives a cape of 242 ilvl… but i’ve been getting that kind of ilvl anyway.
Idk how it should work tbh, maybe only the special abilities upgrade…

I don’t think the item level can be upgraded, but the perk that they give increases as your Cypher rank goes up.
The speed increase one started at 10% for me & is now at 12% on the same 233 gloves.
