When 11.0.7 goes live this week, the Siren Isle ring Cyrce’s Circlet will be significantly stronger than it was on the PTR.
Cyrce’s Circlet will start at item level 639, and when fully upgraded, will reach a maximum item level of 658.
Our goal here is to make the ring a clear choice for the remainder of Season 1, as well as keeping it relevant in Season 2, where it should compete with Heroic raid gear and be replaced by drops from the Mythic raid and high M+ dungeons.
This may require us to make tuning adjustments to specific gems later, so that we can avoid unintended power spikes, and we may want to buff weaker gems as well. Nonetheless, we’re focused on the item level of the ring as our guide for its performance.
To be clear, we do not have specific plans to diminish the ring’s overall power later, but we will make adjustments as needed to ensure that it remains comparable to other rings of a similar item level during Season 2.
We hope everyone enjoys ringing in the new year on Siren Isle!
Will be this ring usable this time by casters and specs using pets as prime source of damage?
I was so excited with Forbidden reach ring till I found out it does nothing for casters and is even worse for demonology locks… I simply used it as item level increase to get into pug groups and then switched back to my n levels lower better ring. Meanwhile melees and most noticeably monks got 10-20% damage increase just from the ring.
I hope this time it will be tuned for casters as well as (surprisingly) not everyone is melee.
Why do you want to create a ring that is “a clear choice”, which in turn translates to everybody who doesn’t wanna miss out for the next 2-3 months having to grind a timegated ground mount adventure?
Not to mention that these things are notoriously overtuned for tanks which means they’ll be forced to use it for even longer.
You’re not creating choices when you make something “a clear choice”.
The ring would’ve been fine as catchup gear. It’s a terrible idea to make it an actual BiS item.
Classes that don’t scale with secondaries because their class designers are on vacation will, as per usual, stick with these types of items for way too long, which in turn makes them squisher, feel worse to play, and overall is just not a nice experience.
Any tank who’s used the forbidden reach ring for 3 contents can explain the frustration and negativity that comes with it.
Don’t buff the ring, it’s a terrible concept and it has already been a terrible concept in Dragonflight. You don’t need to double down on your mistakes to prove that they weren’t mistakes, you just need to admit that you’ve made a mistake and say sorry, it’s much better than the “Oh yeah we hear you and agree, we could pull the ripcord at any time but clearly it’s not a mistake and we’re doing everything perfect, nobody needs to switch covenants ever, it’s an RP choice!” lie that you keep coming up in these situations.
Can we have myth track gear drops from higher level keys (12+ for example)? Its take a lot of time to get that trinket you want for 1% dps increase. It sometimes moves point of game from “become better at pushing buttons” → “gamble specific gear from vault”.
P.S.
I am not focused on my gear tho.
