Imagine having auto party activate with peeps you can see doing same daily quest.
Can it be done?
Can’t you change your settings to accept invites automatically.
My idea of hell but it’s an option.
Used to be an addon that did that, but Blizz stopped it where you then had to manually press a button to join a group in the WQ area… and they broke that too.
Was called PGF [Premade Group Finder].
Reason being was it was spamming data to the server causing it to lag. It was used notoriously by realm hoppers, especially by bots.
So now we’re with the ‘eye’ icon that pops up for Elite WQs, like World Bosses, that you press to automatically join or create.
Back in WoD there was also an addon that let you automatically join groups when they’re up using key words you’ve added to a list that ran in the background while you did whatever else. It allowed me to get all the long respawn world rares that dropped mounts within a week. Miss it
There used to be addon options close to that; but… they made sure those don’t work anymore. Blizzard wants us to be social, but not that social, I guess?
They made dynamic flying.Something like flying in guild wars 2.That seems harder then auto party, which also works in gw2. I know they are not the same but blizz did it once it can be done twice. Those repetetive dailys can be done faster.
That argument works if you assume it’s a technical limitation. They’ve specifically broken addon functionality that made it easier to find groups (like Beerwolf explained), so they probably don’t want this.
Also goes for anyone wanting more advanced macro logic.
How’s having an addon accept invites for you social? D:
‘grouping up’ vs ‘not grouping up’.
I’d have more interactions with Brann and Soridormi than people who automatically party up for a world quest.
Sure. But, it’s still ‘being grouped’ vs ‘not being grouped’.
You can’t deny that difference.
Realm hoppers annoyed the hell out of me, abusing groups so they can farm whatever on the opposite end of the map and what not, often having the group delist once full [which was frequent with multiple hoppers in at the same time].
While you are right about everything else, it did not get killed because of spamming data on the server.
It was killed because what everyone did, is use the addon when near a WQ, press the button, and wait until people completed the WQ, then leave to the nest one.
Blizzard killed that functionality and only left it in for elite quests, so that players would need to manually form a group for most quests. They did not want the automation that the addon created at that time.
So yeah, this is how it worked, and doing WQs was just flying over them and joining groups. Blizzard killed it cause it made the game too boring in their eyes.
Fair enough.
I won’t claim it was a perfect situation, but I liked it, generally speaking.
But the stress it caused on servers was not okay.
