The better question: why there still is corruption? Blizzard said they are happy with how corruption system is working out. Whole community disagrees.
Its in the prepatch like anything long time overdue
This is not true since even Ion said Corruption was a failure.
in the perfect world you wouldn’t sell or scrap ‘useless’ corruptions. You’d trade the item into a vendor for some other type of currency then buy a corruption (like an enchant) on a chosen item.
Id give everything for another one or two ‘sever 3’ but i keep getting goddam vers corruptions (i have 7 items with it on in my bank)
They have effectively gone out and said that 1. WF/TF/Corruption were all failures and will not be reiterated on in the future and that 2. They have for all intents and purposes abandoned BFA and will just leave it as is

Yeah that interview you refer about is the one in February.
In interview they had recently about shadowlands, they basically said that corruption was a failure, that the tuning of corruption was horrible and the team missed the mark with it.
They said they did not balanced more because they did not want to upset the hierarchy of corruption items after players had them.
(and I kinda agree with him, imagine buying a Boe for 2M gold and then it become buyable the week later for a ridiculous amount of mementos lol)
Ah ok. Well tbh, it was clear from the start that this system is unbalancable and will only lead to frustration. This game is 16 years old. Dunno, i would expect a company to have enough experience with different system to be able to forsee possible outcomes. Especially when the community fortells everytime what will happen and it does happen.
Since this patch is out, I’ve never gotten this corruption XD
They have removed it from being a possibility in SL, it was a test for SL they even announced that.
So they are aware we hate the system and have decided against it reguardless.
You can’t seriously think they will delete it now in BFA? Cause they won’t. The same as the gem slots in benthic, they found it to be a mistake but waited to phase it out in the next patch.
You can’t just remove things randomly. Because those that have farmed all the corruption out would be wasted doing so and it’d remove the credibility of content if they did this.
They know we hate it, I think they ment more the balancing of corruption they were happy with, not the actual system.
A lot of 8.3 content is a test for SL, I think they gave up trying to revive BFA with content after 8.2, they just testing ideas in BFA now to try and get live player feedback on ideas they had concerning it.
P.s, if we weren’t made to suffer it now, we would have a whole expansion built around it

Same with visions, it’s a test purpose. The same with the cloak.
There’s a reason all 3 of are on the same kinda concept as some stuff from SL.
Torgaust saw no timer, and 3 death allowance instead. The timer was the biggest complaint concerning visions.
Gear will be gear in SL, the WF/TF and corruptions were the biggest complaints of this expansions.
Legendary cape - customisable legendaries with progression in SL.
We are playing a alpha, for SL which is in Alpha. We just don’t get to see the cool bits of this alpha. Or the updates to fix what we hate.

At the end of this.
We will have a super good side by side comparison of SLs mechanics ideas now to their release.
As 8.3 are basically the starting point of most of SLs mechanics, u will have a proper comparison to really look if they did listen to us or not.
I mean I must just be silly, but for a system that gives this much throughput I am certain there has to be a vendor somewhere… hmmm maybe i’ll make another post tomorrow, someone might have found it by then. After all vendors are terribly difficult to find, I am sure there must be one, we just haven’t found it yet.

I have to admit it would be fantastic if there was a corruption vendor somewhere random and we just haven’t found it. As some sorta way for blizzard to say “ToLd yOu sO”

You mean like they fixed the rng drops from IE by adding Bags you farm to get random chance at the IE mounts?Or how Residium is used to get your BiS Azarite traits.If this is there shtick of giving us rng gear and a farmable/grindy currency so they add a vendor for witch you buy the desired gear then il pass on that whole PvE side of the game,like i did with BFA.

Problem of any kinds? Just put vendor and currency and its fixed. If you cant come up with something better than another stupid vendor/currency nonsense than your suggestion isnt any better than what we have now.
