Daily world quests

But i dont want to play with you, you seem like a whiny child… why would i want to spend time with you?

Most MMO’s I have played since early 2000 has allways had both solo and group content where group content were mostly dungeons and raids with the occationaly Elite boss that needed grouping or atleast more than one to do. The social aspect of an MMO is not only doing content togeather but interact in different ways and even, yes I said it, roleplaying. If an MMO was group play only I dont think it would be successful at all.

It’s called “Respecting Player Time” apparently.

Personally, I miss the dailies and elements of the old-skool grind. In ZM we had to farm mobs for rare component drops for many mounts. In ED we just fill the currency bar, do weeklies and unlock with Renown. They’re now passive rewards rather than specific, targetable rewards and I feel that is detrimental to the game.

But I feel I’m in a minority - a lot of players hated the ZM mount process with a passion. I wonder if it’s generational to a degree. I grew up on games with a linear path, no easy mode, no save option and no QoL at all, so completing them was a real achievement. Younger games will have never had that experience.

Woah slow down. You dont just get to take the high road and make assumptions, brand me a troll and then pat yourself on the back.

First of all its an expression of frustration, not a tantrum. I am guessing that the majority of people on forums come to share their opinion because of their love of the game. Me too. I joined in Wrath and have played on and off (but mostly on ) since.

The barrage of insults of me not being “self reflecting” are pretty baseless. I take time to mull over my opnions. I dont think its a stretch to point out the MMO part should be an integral part of the game. I also dont think we should let the devs get away with what I would class as sub par content. We all deserve better.

I genuinely believe this game was amazing and still can be. The IP is brillliant. But the part of what makes Wow special for so many people is playing with other people! Be that through world interaction, raiding , dungeons guilds etec. The list goes on. I dont think that playing a puzzle matching game, or getting a turtle to the water is good content or values anyones time.

I dont like the fact that the new zone is just that. As was the last one. I understand that some people dont like to play with others and thats fine. But I think they should try and be open to it coming in to an an MMO, and that Blizz should be better at introducing them to it. And its also my opinion that you will be spending alot of money (box price and monthly sub) to have a rubbish solo experience. Hence why I mentioned solo games that are fantastic experience (subnautica anyone?) because its much cheaper and better compared to what you get.

The fact is by changing the core of the game to accomodate the people it was never designed for, everyone gets a poorer experince and everyone is worse off. New and old players. And the game loses its direction.

The posisition we are in now is that I personally believe Blizz know they have to put in so much less effort to the content because its solo and apparnetly thats what people want they can get away from it. But its my believe everyone deserves better from them.

There is a place for everyone in MMO’s. I want everyone to love the game. But I dont see why the game has to lose its fundamentals to do that. I happily embrace change, but repsect your older player base too, and honour what makes the game great.

I also am not close minded enough to just have my opinion. I am open to having it changed so as opposed to just telling me I am a troll and to lump it, so reasons why this is the way forward would be appreicated.

nobody needs to do anything they dont want to, its a video game

The problem is, there are players, including myself, who want to have daily chores. Reasons to log in.

What has changed though, is that they are fewer and their reset time is longer.

So if you want to log in Twice a week and do all the WQ’s you can do so without missing anyway.

And those of us, who want to log in daily and do the latest World Quests, can do that.

Personally, I’d rather have more WQ’s.

I like doing world quests, not overly complicated, no need to get a group together like dungeons or LfR, just go around the world and kill stuff for a bit, i don’t know why WQs were nerfed so hard, since the people most likely to complain about “having to do them” don’t actually need to do them, since they can do their precious M+, raids, or PvP instead.

So the content for a lot of people has been nerfed so that people who don’t need to do them, don’t… feel like they need to do them?

So I know this will be on an individual case but can you tell me why you personally like them? You yourself called them chores. If you had to, could you disect the experience and pinpoint the fun bit?

This isnt so I can point and go “AH-HA!” but more for some insight into it.

It’s nice to have something to log in and do. It feels like you’re making progress, even if it’s only a small amount. Getting a little bit done every day, rather than doing it all in one go.

Whilst I’m as against borrowed power and forced content in the game. It was kind of nice having something to grind out on the regular.

Ok. I had a snoop tho and it looks like you have good gear and smash out the +20’s and a bit of raiding. Is’nt that what you would consider your progression?

To clarify, I would do world quests if I thought they were worth doing. But for me they seem very boring. I get that might not be trhe case for others, but they do seem very simple and low effortt.

That’s what i like about them, they’re relaxing, not too complex, not a bunch of other people i might let down (In their opinion, anyway) so no pressure, LfR and dungeons are fun, but sometimes i just want to leisurely kill some stuff and complete some quests on my own.

Also, having a new zone added on Wednesday and by Saturday i’m at “Well, 2 world quests a day…” as far as only thing to do there until next reset is downright pathetic.

Why would I only consider that progress?

WoW is a game as a whole, not just its individual game modes.

Besides, I can log in and do 2 WQs as a warm up or inbetween running keys.

If I had to cut back on what I do in WoW due to time constraints, I’d probably cut out Raiding and M+, and just enjoy the world content. It’s easy access and quite fulfilling.

With Renown and Achievements it’s got its own progression routes.

World quests don’t pander to casuals.
I don’t know who they pander to or why they are obsessed daily world quests but as the ultimate casual I point blank refuse to participate in the rep grind.

I have long advocated for the return of the tabard system. It was and still is the best rep grinding system they ever came up with.

I’m not saying they should get rid of world quests but they should put the tabard system on top of it as another option.

This is on you. Why do you feel you “have” to do them?

You aren’t a bleeding edge raider, m+'r or pvpr as far as I can see. The player power they confer is a short term advantage.

So why do you “have” to do this, or feel like you have to? It’s fine to blame Blizz but when people say look at yourself I don’t think they are too far wrong.

So you start by saying “I dont want to have to log in to do quests because its boring”
Then you say

People should be logging into play.

So which is it. Do you even know what you are complaining about?
