Dalaran Coin Fishing - Still possible?

Good evening,

I’ve recently made an attempt to complete the 3 Coin challenges with the Eventide fountain in Dalaran. I’ve completed this achievement long time ago on a different account, took me some 2-4 hours, don’t remember correctly, to collect all the coins for all 3 achievements. Wowhead also has records of players comparing their results, circling around 600 fishings and 4 hours to complete these 3 achievements.

However, after over 4 hours of fishing in that fountain, even using those pricy 6G fishing enhancements which help fishing out these coins from that fountain, and after fishing out a lot of coins, I have 0 coins which count towards those 3 achievements.

I would like to ask how is that possible? The new coins weren’t there, and even on the highest fishing skill with enhancements and coin fishing aids, after 4 hours I can’t get a SINGLE coin which counts towards those 3 coin achievements?

I think this is broken, if this is not a bug, but a feature, then this achievement was made unnecessarily difficult for the players (if after 4 hours of constantly fishing there is no progress? zero??), especially considering that this achievement’s reward is just a simple coin of virtually none but symbolic value and use -_-;

Please let me know if this achievement got broken on purpose in this way between WoTLK and BfA so I can cross this off my list as undoable and move on or fix it if it is really a bug.

Quick question, and please don’t take this the wrong way:

are you in the correct version of Dalaran?

There’s an exchange between commenters on Wowhead where people fish in the fountain of the Legion version of Dalaran (which does not yield any coins for these achievements), then hitting themselves in the forehead with a fishing rod and moving to the Northrend version of Dalaran, whereupon they find the coins that count towards the achievements.

You in Northrend?

yeah i’m in the legion version of dalaran, the one floating one.

You realise that both Dalarans actually float, and since you mentioned Legion that is the Broken Isles Dalaran and not Northrend Dalaran HazelHooff’s talking about right?

You are in the wrong Dalaran for the achievement you’re trying to do.

You need to go to Northrend.

You must use Dalaran, Crystalsong Forest portal in orgrimmar to be precise.

yeah only long after my last post i recalled that one of these dalarans is in broken isles. and no, my confusion stems directly from the fact that i did not realise that both dalarans float… :frowning:
thanks, i understand my mistake now. and to think it took me so much time… and still couldn’t figure it out on my own.
