Dalaran evenings (courtesy of the Horde)

Greetings to all the Horde mages (and by extension all the Horde).

As presently the Horde is allowed admittance to Dalaran, I thought it would be lovely to have some Horde mage rp in the floating city. A time to build up the Horde presence and to show the Kirin Tor the more intellectual side of the Horde races. Hopefully encourage their neutral stance to remain (I honestly think in war, any sane leader would be pushing this).

Of course, some may go there for alternative reasons, as a neutral city, it is only natural that you would come across Alliance aligned individuals and so opportunities for spying and such exist.

But to begin with, I thought to bring a reason for the Horde mages to visit the city in a more cheerful manner.

Dalaran evenings, courtesy of your own Horde mages.

Once a month, or, depending on feedback, once every other month (likely every other month, presently). Dalaran evenings will offer a place to relax and enjoy the magical city of Dalaran.

The first evening will consist of a quiz within Legermaine lounge (NR Dalaran).

Others will consist of magical pet battles as well as dazzling rod tournaments within the city (sewers area of NR Dalaran), as well as the tried and tested duels (pvp style).

Other ideas are open to consideration of course.

It would be great if there are some who would be available to offer other entertainment services, such as a bard, waitress or even DJ (of a sort), as well as others .

As it is a neutral city, Alliance and Kirin Tor would be welcomed and encouraged to join in, however numbers will be monitored to ensure that balance is kept (this is for Kirin Tor, Alliance and Horde groups and only for the short event, social rp revolving around / throughout the evening are all encouraged). I would ask, if the maximum number is reached for the planned event only, that people do not feel let down. It will be strictly on a first come first serve basis (this is dependent on who ever from alliance / horde and kirin tor sign up on here first).

To begin with, it would be nice to have just mages attend the quiz itself (or those who rp a magical character), but should you bring with you guards, spies, agents etc for other purposes, those are all things that can go alongside the main activity away from the short main event, after which we can all join up again for some social rp (after all, it’s a great excuse for people to go to the city, also feel free to come and observe if you wish, but keep emotes to a minimum).

As the first event is a quiz, ideally, 18 individuals of no more than 4 in a group to attend would be great. Groups of 2’s and 3’s are just as good, but ideally, not to go over 18, so all in in the quiz will have their own table in Legermaine Lounge, or at least a place to sit, (I suggest each group has their own group chat to not allow other groups to hear you giving answers to each other, just say it’s whispering).

Date: 17th March

Time: 9 realm time

Duration: The quiz will last no longer than 40 minutes to one hour (likely shorter). After which time, social rp is welcomed where the group will be able to boast their achievements to all.

Location: Legermaine Lounge, Northrend Dalaran

Quiz rules:

1.Decide the name of your team, decide who your team leader is and let me know.

2.The quiz master will ask the question (all of which are wow related and lore friendly), each team will have 30 seconds to answer and whisper your answer to me, if you don’t get an answer to me within 30 seconds, it will be marked as automatically wrong (only one person per team is to do this, so the team leader). I will ask for the names of the team leaders at the start and will only accept the whispers from them. I will note if you got the answer right or wrong as the quiz progresses.I’ll say this again, I will only accept an answer from the team leader.

3.At the end of the quiz, IC I will give out the answers and ask IC if you swap your answer sheet with the team next to you to mark them (I will obviously already know who the winner is).

4.Any IC drama about answer sheets being marked wrong, will be dealt with by asking to see the answer sheets for both teams and IC these will be checked.

5.The winner has the prestige of being the quiz masters of Dalaran until the next time a quiz is held.

Ooooo! This sounds like fun. I can try sneak off from the Hand of Agony to try attend. Then again Jorrick will most likely kick my butt back to our base again.

Nothing but respect for the Sin’dorei, who are not afraid of showing themselves in Dalaran once again, in spite of the Kirin Tor’s former leader personally incinerating innocent blood elves and decorating the streets with their scorched corpses a mere few years ago.

I salute your bravery!

The Three Hammers had a quiz in Ironforge and I loved it, so Kelduril will be there for sure.

GOOD in ten characters.

Oh my, a mage quiz in Dalaran! I want that. One question, though: is there going to be both Alliance and Horde char to whisper with answers? Are you going to add the team leaders on battle.net? Or maybe discord?

Hi Coldshade, you know, I completely forgot to add that bit. I’ll add them on bnet for the event (the team leaders that is, or they can add me once their team leader has been decided), after which they’re free to remove me from their friend list if they don’t like it cluttered.

And everyone, thank you for the support.

I’ll start a list of attendees on the original post. If you’re bringing people with you to be in the quiz itself, if you could include their names also (or just the numbers), it’ll help make sure that I can keep numbers balanced.

Thanks

Someone should host the LECTURES event again. That was a great deal of fun.

Sounds good but limiting numbers, eh, what if someone wants to come on some alt/alts just for the social RP aspect?

They’re more than welcome Vilesun… and encouraged. The quiz itself will be about 30 / 40 minutes long. Social before and after are all very much welcome. And anyone who wants to observe is welcome too. But to keep spam down, those who come to observe, all I’d ask is that they keep emotes to a minimum etc, to help reduce spamming so people miss the question given to them or me the answer etc.

Is Vilesun planning to come?

Highly unlikely. You are safe!

Awh, there I hoped we may make a team.

With the enemy?! You should lick your wounds first!

The tournament is at the 10th of March, there’s still time!

Interesting;

Might be a nice event to get to know some Sin’dorei and Shal’dorei RPers to!

But are we certain Dalaran is neutral? The Alliance portal room screams Dalaran to me, you know?
