Dalaran One Year Later Memorial (N-RP, 26/08)

Dalaran: One Year Later Memorial

Speakers are invited to reflect on their memories of Dalaran, surviving and the attempts to move forward with their lives in the year since the Violet City. A year later, we gather to close the chapter on a year of mourning and attempt to move forward with hope into the future. Both Kirin Tor and regular citizens of Dalaran are welcome and encouraged to speak.

Each speaker will have approximately ten minutes to speak. Those who contact Zyretha in advance will be prioritised but we will allow other speakers if time allows on the day. Once the speakers have finished, we will place candles or lanterns around a memorial banner of the Kirin Tor.

Wearing the colours of the Kirin Tor (or a group such as the Silver Covenant or Sunreavers if you are a member) is requested. You will also receive a small pack of the traditional Dalaran Fireworks upon arrival to use as part of the memorial’s end.

I’ll try to be there if possible!

I will join  Amazing !

This is my Event of the Week. Thank you for making this!

Thank you all for reaching out and volunteering your time. Reminder that this memorial is tomorrow evening. Please arrive at the crater from eight for a prompt half-past eight start.

It says, that anybody is welcome but then “anyone Kirin Tor related” which I find a bit confusing.
Are outsiders of the kirin tor and Dalaran community not welcome then?

Everyone’s welcome, sorry if that’s not clear! Just speakers we suggest be Kirin Tor or Dalaran affiliated somehow and those who are dress appropriately Kirin Tor-ish!

Ah, thank you for the clarification.

Dalaran really was a unique home for so many different races. I don’t think we’ll ever see another neutral city with the same kind of impact. It was truly one-of-a-kind.

Sounds like a nice RP opportunity one year on, it’s an event that should be factored into RP experiences. Especially Dalaran that has been bought low and rebuilt before, it’s got a nice hopeful message for the future

A reminder that this is tonight. If you wish to leave a ground-visible memorial, we can reccomend bringing a Holy Candle: https://www.wowhead.com/item=216708/holy-candle that can be acquired in Hallowfall or the Siren Isle.

We will be handing out Dalaran Fireworks to arrivals for the ending of the memorial event between eight and half-past, where our first speaker will begin promptly to ensure we don’t keep you up late.

During the memorial speeches we ask for politeness and that you try to use whispers or party chats to discuss other things. We ask everyone remain patient and polite with one another this evening due to the small number of people organising the event who cannot afford to chase after trouble.

Reminder Elixir of Tongues will be required as this is a cross-faction event, and we sadly are unlikely to be able to provide these.

Hey everyone! I made a video that includes the ‘Dalaran: One Year Later’ memorial event, along with some other stuff. If you’re interested or want to see yourself in it, feel free to check it out - https://youtu.be/-0CPlQFrE0Y?feature=shared
