Dancefloor toy is lame, but predictably so

Yet another desync of own and other people’s experience. The music only changes on the user’s end.
Now how is this a problem?? Does it break someone’s game to have it audible by observers?

I mean, OK, I guess it was a matter of not putting any coding effort into it, because if it changes the local music, then it needs a range, and if it is a sound effect, then it mixes with the local music, but I have seen in the Uldaman instance that a musical soundfile can also affect the music system. So it should be possible that the dancefloor changes the music in a small zone around it, or turns the music off while it plays its own. … It worked kinda like that for a long time with the auction house dance floor, too, no?
Then it would be an MMO mood maker. Instead it is just another non-harmonizing loner thing.

But then on the other hand, the fishing bobber sounds are all there again. Pleasant surprise. But the inconsistency!

It is to stop people annoying others with it.

thats cool and all but why arent other toys silenced like that. Peopl have been spamming the toy train set in bgs for years . And its the worst thing to listen to

they also gave us a toy to kill the toy trains. I personally have game sounds muted, so i could care less if someone is using a dance floor. I can see how others though will find it annoying if they want the immersion of the game.

Yeah you do get a toy for that but doesnt change the fact your ears get molested by the incredible loud noice it produces before you are able to put the train wrecker down

THe worst part is that it’s a vehicle, so you can’t just move to break it, you have use an exit button.

It should just be a dance floor toy, which makes you dance if you stand on it, and at that point you hear music.

Having fun dance music in a very limited space is arguably not the most annoying but actually spiritually uplifting, and harp and flute are audience-enabled, too, probably for that reason, and you can use neural silencer if you want to be numbed to the world around you, and you can also turn game music off and even listen to any music you like via external player.

The neural silencer consumable counteracts that on the observer side, and there’s also the toy train wrecker toy. (Imagine the karmic disappointment when someone use the toy train cooldown and wham, immediately ended.)
I mean, you are talking about battlegrounds, for god sake! Soldier up! It’s tought out there! What will the Horde think when they see you whine about a toy train?? Our combat rep is already bad enough!

The real smooth thing would simply be that area music is unified between multiple toys and people can put their dancefloor next to each other. - But your idea of a freely joinable autodance zone sounds maybe even better. - Although the come-and-join effect would be less. You would still be the pioneer weirdo to others, popping and locking to war anthems.

like i said the trainwrecker toy only works when your ears have already been molested. And do you have any idea how damned loud that sound is compared to all other ingame sounds. The neural silencers are not avaible as freely. People using the train toy should be permabanned for harrasment tbh

  1. Try to find an orc complaining like you do.

  2. I would agree that that toy should only trigger the own emote and not everybody around, because if others want to, they can join in manually.

  3. There are 289 Neural Silencer beginning at 60G on the AH right now, and 3295 Mk3 models for endgame beginning at <7G. Each one lasts 12 hours.
You even get them from Blingtrons people put down here and there.

UPDATE: There is a toy you can buy from the toy vendor in SW/OG: Earpieces of Tranquil Focus
They give you a 1-hour buff that claims to be muting all music and vocals.
