Apparently there is a new addon called " BlacklistTracker " that was released in some servers. It basically gathers data from discord servers regarding blacklisting people. It’s a very nice idea but it has a major let down. Getting blacklisted in a discord server means nothing because people won’t ever look up names there. When these names go into an addon though, that’s a different story. People downloading the addon can just come across a blacklist person and either ignore or refuse to join forces. The issue comes from the people with the power to blacklist. “The council” takes decisions based on screenshots and although it can be very accurate in some cases, there are others where it’s not as clear. I’ve come across many cases where blacklisting was not correct, was short sighted and in some cases completely wrong based on the provided evidence. Of course everyone can have a different opinion which is why discussions happen. But if the council blacklists you, there is nothing you can do.
Blizzard should really take a look at this and take action.
I have seen 0 people use it and am not aware of being blacklisted nor have I heard of someone being.

Its more for a people blacklisting GDKP raid leaders for stealing whole pots and 99% of those leaders are Irani
On one of my alts, that is in a massive guild that invites anyone that hits 25, the GM has been adding people to the list who don’t invite him in their pug or require him to tank(warrior).
This isn’t to say the sky is falling or anything but certain defective individuals are already making a mess of this addon. We just gotta wait till this addon catches on with the general audience and then we will have a problem because of such people.
Im in this discord. Very few applications for blacklisting get through, and its the ones to be blacklisted have deserved so.
This is a list of players who have ninja looted from groups and raids or intentiomally griefed to extreme extends.
No ones getting blacklisted for a disagreement or because some ones mad at you. So providing you arent intentionally wiping raids, ninja looting items or something horrific i really dont get why its dangerousm
And no one? Ur aware theres like 50k+ players in the living flame discord for example ye?. I think you really underestimate how many do.
It only takes a handful of people in a entire guild for someones blacklisted status to be brought up.
If i log on, and as a discord player. And my guild try to invite somoene and i say wait wait, even tho everyone else in the guild isnt on that discord, ive just informed them u are.
Its not about “whos on the discord”. Black list knowledge spreads organically its fueled by word of mouth, the to this day strongest advertisement.
The blacklist addon isnt introducing anything that qas already going on, ur argue as if everyone needs to be in the discord for this to work, it doesnt.
I can at any time start reeling off blacklisted names into general chats, guild chat, raid chat. The only place ur protected from this is on tbe forums as we cant name and shame, but every other enviroment qe are free to do so im afraid.
The intentions may or could be right but there is always could be some error or propaganda of the interested party involved. Also posting as lvl 19 alt - while calling yourself part of the team which moderates the addon, means you either a troll or your process of selecting the blacklist victims is not crystal-clear and you is afraid to show your real nickname.
All the discords for the servers are full of bottom dwellers anyway. No one takes their opinions seriously

Also calling someone out for being level 19 with a 25 cap is extremely lame, 1) classic chars update extremely slow, and also require a log out and back in process 2) heard of changing classes?.
I didnt say i moderate any addon, nor did i said i moderate blacklisting.
What i stated was.
Im in the discords where the blacklists that this addon takes data from and can visually see that the people in charge of this do discuss this, and it isnt a case of “black list all u want”. Its taken seriously by the players moderating it.
Anyone can join the discord, the blacklist is free for anyone apart of that discord to view, its extremely open, and you dont need a addon to look this up.
Nor do you have to be apart of that council to see the discussions or applications for blacklists. You simply can go to the fiscord, press the blacklist tab and it will bring up every application to blacklist, with the discussion attached and verdict added.
Do you guys not understand? This individual has undoubtedly been blacklisted; that’s why he is expressing his grievances.

I’m clear on all alts. I play with friends so blacklist does nothing for me. We organise raids so checking on someone being blacklisted also doesn’t mean anything to us. I like checking on people being blacklisted in the discord and have fun trolling everyone. But there are cases where a blacklist should not happen and it does anyway. Or a blacklist NOT happening when it’s a clear one. It’s just that the people responsible for the blacklisting are limited and part of a circle that could be elitists, noobs, trolls, casual gamers and can only have a limited vision of the game. Thats why I oppose the blacklist being part of an addon that nobody can filter
This addon is a giant meme. The developer claims she “became a developer and now just spends most the time looking for bugs in other developers projects”, yet the addon is ridden with insanely badly written code and bugs that are so easy to spot you wonder whether it’s all a practical joke to begin with.
They also got this running gag going that GUIDs are going to blacklist your entire account (spoiler alert: there is nothing in a GUID that ties to any alts on the same account), the mods asking the dev how they can get a GUID from people at any time to which the reply is “you can’t, person has to be online” (spoiler alert: you can get someone’s GUID simply by adding them to your friendlist and doing a /dump C_FriendList.GetFriendInfo("Name"), even if they are offline).
And then the vetting process for these submission is terrible at best. One day they are meming at legitimately scammed people, the next they blacklist someone over absolutely nothing. It has more to do with whether someone took a dump in their cereal on that particular day. Nothing more than a bunch of discord mods on a power trip. Does that pose a problem if use of this addon ever became popular? Possibly. But so far the public at large seems to really care about their efforts.
Not to mention that it would be insanely easy to spoof a few screenshots with some print or DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage calls and falsely accuse someone you dislike of ninjaing. And since it never happened the accused ones are going to have a hard time proving their innocence if all screenshots are handled like objective truth, unless they forge some counter evidence themselves of course.

Good thing I Don’t really use Discord, other than being on voice with the guild for raids.
