Dark Portal is closed

I am trying to take the shortest route to Karazhan.
From Orgrimmar through Shattrath portal,
flying to The Dark Portal to get to Blasted Lands,
but nothing happens when I try to enter The Dark Portal.

If the NPC inside the portal room of orgrimmar doesnt offer you a teleport to blasted lands you can alternatively just take the zeppelin to stranglethorn vale

As a Mage you also have the stonard teleport.

use badlands portal in valdrakken instead , or stv zeppelin

Reliable travelling routes have already been posted above, so I just want to comment on this:
It is not impossible to find a glitch spot in the Dark Portal that ports one back from Hellfire Peninsula to Blasted Lands. I have accidentally been ported in this direction once or twice.

There’s a bronze dragon NPC at the top of Blasted Lands that allow you to revert the zone to the TBC version, after which you can enter the Dark Portal to go to Outland.

Other way around though… think it’s just Shattrath.

My suggestion was going to be the Mage in the Portal room of Orgrimar but others have said it.

But there is another one that would be useful, needs a little work first.
Unlock the Pet Battle dungeon teleports. There is one for Deadmines which isn’t too far from Kara (not quite as close as the Drk Portal but near enough).

I used to do it this way a month ago: if your blasted lands are set to be back to TBC timeline you can go to the portal room in Ogrimmar once you enter go left and down the ladder, then talk to this battle mage orc near Shattrath portal and he teleports you to Blasted Lands. At least I had it this way.
The second way is pretty trivial : take the zeppelin the most right one, in Ogrimmar on the roof. It brings you to Stranglethorn and then it is 1-2 min to Kara.

Actually no I can remember I could still leave through the DP in WoD and step out to a red portal I think it whas closed with BfA with the creation of the portal room.

People who are on that expansion have that SW NPC that puts you right there but it disappears when you progress enough. I’m not referring to Chromie time. Maybe it will work for that although I cannot confirm it.
