Dark ranger customization

Although I think it looked absolute awesome I think it’s a little weird that every single elf race can use the red eyes lol

I mean, the dark rangers is specifically blood elves so to me it would make absolute sense that it only would be available for blood elves not all elves hahh

Cause the black eyes for night elves after the special quest with Tyrande is only available for them…see what I mean??

Why can’t all elves have black eyes then?? Make it make sense heh

I think night born are excluded and Demon hunters & Death knights too sadly.

Because NE dark rangers were established during BfA, hence BE and NE got it… that VE got is was probably just to stop the HE fans from crying, because there is actually no reason for VE to have it since Nightborne were excluded.

PS: Black eyes for other elves than NE would make zero sense again, because NE got them through observing the Night Warrior ritual and fighting for the NW beneath the Black Moon.

Because VE players are absolute disgusting crybabies that are think they are entitled too have everything a blood elf has…
See the abysmal “HE” for refference…

If I recall correctly, the people who asked for red eyes were void elf fans, not high elf fans. I know specifically they asked for N’zoth red eyes, but I guess to Blizzard it’s potato tomato

So don’t blame High elves whenever you get the chance. It’s getting annoying (speaking to the forums in general)

Why in earth would a high elf want red eyes to begin with? I thought they wanted to become less gothy

Yeah, wouldn’t mind that, but “N’Zoth Eyes” (slit-shaped pupils) aren’t Dark Ranger costumization that also forces us to use a skin tone that removes our lovely eye circles. If you’re truly interested to see what VE fans hope for, there are threads with fan art that will also show you how the things look you’re talking about.

I mean… tell that to Blizzard. I was just as shocked as you when I heard they gave Dark Rangers to void elves. I rolled my eyes and I know who the forums would blame when it happened.

This is a chance to give blood elves their uniqueness that they seek, and Blizzard failed them.

Wrong. Void elves ARE blood elves. Just like blood elves ARE high elves.
Not much more than just some ‘infusion’ seperates them. So it actually makes sense for void elves to also have it.

They have plenty of uniqueness, really. It’s just some people who will never be satisfied.
So some others got their hands on this ‘shiny new toy’ too. Be happy for them.

People… /sigh

Yeah of course, point is: dark rangers were raised while VE were still stuck in Telogrus Rift, getting tought not to go mad by Alleria, that’s why it’s implausible for them to be dark rangers… but hey, I’m not saying they should remove the option, more costumization is always welcome, just trying to explain to the OP the lore background.

Spoilers 9.2.5

If you’ve done the Dark Ranger quest you would know that the Dark Ranger said that the undead Kal’dorei had a choice to stay here in undercity or go back to the alliance.

Undead Blood elves or high elves always aligned themselves with the horde specifically the sin’dorei and forsaken. There isn’t even ONE Thalassian dark ranger alliance NPC

I still don’t think Dark Ranger void elves fit the alliance at all, or even the theme.

The only reason the high elf theme fit is because at the very least there are tons and tons of High elf NPC’s within the alliance. Unlike thalassian dark Rangers

They should’ve gave Void elves red N’zoth eyes and keep the dark ranger stuff to the night elves and blood elves, this is how I would do it and keep it within the lore.

That way everyone’s happy.

But what’s done is done. I guess. Congrats everyone :raised_hands:

Were they though?
I would think there could have been dark rangers who existed long before void elves were ever a thing who, when given that choice, decided to try this ‘gift from the void’.

I wouldn’t be happy. I don’t like N’Zoth. I don’t like the void.
But I like the blood/void elf model (unlike the night elf model, which I think looks bad). So for me what they did totally works and I’m happy about it.

There are. They existed since Warcraft 3, as I’m pretty sure Sylvanas is one. They aligned with the horde/forsaken afterwards and one Dark Ranger said after Sylvanas’s betrayal “the sin’dorei and forsaken are both my people” or something like that.

I also remember the funny Windrunner reunion when Sylvanas insulted Alleria on being a void elf and Alleria insulted Sylvanas on her Banshee/undead abilities and Vereesa is like…. Well, guess I’m the normal sister.

I think everyone using the dark ranger optics should have to listen to Nathanos saying “Finally there are dark rangers in our ranks” at least every 15 minutes.

Damn that was a bit harsh, no? lol

I’m not going to say anything about what’s right or who should have what cause I don’t know about the hole history behind all the elves.

Although that’s kinda what I just did but it was more a question because I thought dark rangers where only horde and blood elf thing.

And it would be like a special thingy for BE as NE have the black once, ya know?

NE black eyes, BE red eyes.
DH only NE or BE.
Void elves purple, because VOID.
BE Dark Ranger
NE Woodland Ranger (or w/e it’s called)

This is what makes sense.
But Blizzard has to bend to the entitled for some reason…
I call them entitled because, have you seen how many posts there are about VE costumization? Oh my god…

EDIT: Fixed a spelling error lmao.

EXACTLY that’s just about how I feel would make PERFECT sense.

Btw, don’t tell me that they are going to let other races then NE and BE be DH cause ima lose my mind-

Also, I actually haven’t seen the talk about VE customisation lol

I mean not since the normal BE skin colour, hair colour + eye colour got added for them

Ofcourse they will make more DH races.
Because magically the lore and history gets deleted because “Inclusivity”.

Same way they made Tauren mage/warlock.
Somehow a race who adores nature and want’s too help ppl is now going too destroy everything and tap into the dark forces. Ok boomer

Btw, Draenei still only 1 eye color.

I haven’t done the questline yet, but surely more options would be good for the roleplaying community to use and explore ?

Whenever Blizzard limits stuff there’s usually complaints and protest threads against it. :woman_shrugging:

I feel a bit sad thinking about the night elves forced to serve and attack their own people. They have had a rough time of late. :crescent_moon: :woman_elf:

Ah, so because a few loud void elves and high elf fans made customizations posts, suddenly we are all cry babies now. Very nice logic.

By the way there is Nothing wrong in making a customization posts. It’s not against the forum rules as I recall. Customizations was lacking, compared to other games and due to these customization posts Void elves and Nightborne were given customization to catch up with core races and be on the same level, so allied races don’t feel cheap and useless.

Also I never seen anyone ask for dark Rangers for void elves, at least not on the EU forums.

The request to ask for High elf customizations was justified considering High elf NPC’s existed on the alliance side since vanilla. High elves were the most requested race on the alliance side, and blizzard delivered through customizations.

Let’s not forgot blood elves also got these “alliance” eye colors for themselves. Originally, Blizzard was not going to give blood elves blue eyes but blood elf fans cried and within two weeks it was given to both void elves and blood elves. I still remember this and I will never forget.
