there will always be bad rp’ers, rp’ers who don’t read the forum, who doesn’t have the context or who just use it because its cool lookin’
its the price you pay to roleplay in a hub as populated as stormwind.
Not every change is made with RP in mind, RP subs are not the bread and butter of the game, even on our own realm where we have the biggest community in the region we are still a minority.
You can expect a lot of belf players who changed over to velf with helf options to also really want those darkfallen customization and if they’d have to faction change back to belf again after having already recently changed over to velf for the helf customization…
If I was them (not a RPer) I’d be pissed in a ‘they’re trying to incentivize store sales again’ kind a way.

The final quest only dictates that Night Elf Dark Rangers might be able to return to Night Elf society if Tyrande accepts it. But as of right now we do not know if Tyrande will accept it, or how the Night Elves in general will feel about that whole sorted affair. I cannot imagine Night Elves just nonchalantly welcoming the same people who just tried to kill them a few patches ago.
As for Void Elf/High Elf Dark Rangers, there was simply 0 thought put into that implementation and its clear in the fact that they are not ever even mentioned anywhere in any lore with this new patch, so until we get something concrete I’m going to say they’re still absolutely kill-on-sight and wouldn’t even be allowed close to Alliance territory, much less into the Cathedral of Holy Light.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this new customization option was actually inspired by a certain private RP server.

I don’t see it happen that fast however, you can make the arguement that the darkfallen nelves had resentment for those who had risen as reason to turn away from the horde and I would agree but as for alliance accepting them back…
Was mind control a factor? because if it wasn’t that means those rerissen night elves choose to join in with the battle for darkshore. (been a while so rusty with lore on that)
Tyrande has indicated previously that she would accept the Forsaken NElves back into the fold btw.
Like I’m assuming it’s not as simple as “welcome back, here’s a gift basket” for fear of spies or whatever but the faction wouldn’t reject them outright if they wished to return.

Yeah we have “Some undead Kaldorei would like to return to the Alliance, we’ll let them try” from the Horde and “Tyrande would likely be accepting of undead Kaldorei who would like to make amends” from the Alliance.
What we don’t have, though, is confirmation that there are now Kaldorei Darkfallen in the Alliance. This isn’t a case like Taunka where we know they’re in the Horde but we don’t get to play one, it’s the complete opposite, and until there’s some hard evidence that there are definitely Nelf Dark Rangers in the Alliance, it’s best to assume that there aren’t.
Couldnt agree more with this take, after the normalisation of death knights/demon hunters/warlocks and now soon dragonkin, dark rangers really dont feel all that inappropriate
Ironically I’ve seen Duskwood folk treat DKs and DHs more appropriately than the casual Stormwind inhabitant.

More like wishful thinking.
Yet one Menethil was enough to outright ruin one capital, cripple another, raise an army of undead from the people that Menethil was meant to rule over one day and then become a threat to the entire population of Azeroth.
Not so much an odd statement since hardly ANYONE outside of like, Derek and Lilian knew what Calia’s true motives were, if even THEY know.
(Edit): The effects are also still being felt to this day by the Blood Elves in particular too.
I cant imagine her motives are worse than their recent previous leader, we’ll see I guess, when she alignes with a universe ending bigbad, maybe ppl will have some shade to throw at her.
