Darkmoon Faire prof quests?

I finally had time to go to Darkmoon Faire after a very long pause, my idea was of course get those pesky last 5 points to a profession. You know, the ones that take a lot of grinding especially in Outlands.
And… I got two points.
I’m very sorry if this is already old news, I did try to find similar topic on these forums but found only posts about xp and that’s not my issue here.
So, what gives? Are these quests bugged and I can try again next month, or are they changed so that the entire DMF is now a complete waste of time?

Edit: It seems my character on these forums has changed herself to classic character by herself. I was naturally talking about retail wow.

I believe (never confirmed it myself) that it gives +5 points to Classic level professions only.
This is annoying and rather pointless (guite literally).

Iirc it gives +5 to the latest expansions progress you have learned, does it not?

It did not, only got two points for both gathering and manufacturing. It did give five earlier, that’s the reason I’m a bit confused now.

That’s how it should work and that would make sense.
But we know this game doesn’t always work the way it should nor always make sense.

Although I haven’t tried a profession quest for a long time. I read they stopped working with later expansions.

That must have been changed with 10.0.5, either accidentally or intently.

It’s been working like this since DF launch for DF proffs.

I was not impressed at the time either. Especially considering how awful they’ve made profession levelling now.

So, essentially this means that leveling up old expansions’ professions has just changed from “bloody annoying” to “definitely not worth it”. I’ve been struggling to find motive to continue this game - and I mean other motive than the unfortunate fact that I have paid a 6 months sub which expires in May - and this isn’t helping at all.

I did it early this afternoon and it gave me 3(?) DF points for each profession.

Pretty sure it was three for skinning and two for leather working for me (no skill up this time which bus disappointing)

I checked today with my blacksmith. Two points for blacksmithing, two for mining, three for cooking, fishing and archaeology. Since the last points for Outlands blacksmithing are a complete pita, the only smart option is to drop the manufacturing professions as they only cause frustration now. I have two main interests in this game; raising professions and writing background stories - and I can make those stories without Wow. I think it’s bye-bye-time. Take care folks.

I think that the professions (The crafting ones at least) being a pain in the back to level to 100 is intended, DMF profession quests also give some profession knowledge points though, which (After profession level 50) are arguably more important, anyway.

I get that - but the problem is that also older profession tiers now only get those two points and no “knowledge” exists before DF.

Ah, that’s probably a side-effect of the DF-change, paired with a deep disregard for anything from previous expansions, WoW is probably a big pile of spaghetti code and kludge fixes after 18 years of tacking bits and pieces onto the game, after all.

Got 2 points for Blacksmithing, the rest of my professions have already been maxed out, those were easy. I’m at skill 82 in Blacksmithing and it is going to be a bit of a pain to level it from now on. Sparks don’t drop which blocks me from crafting +3 skill recipes and +1 skill recipes need 40 kaz’gorite ores each which also takes long to mine. Maybe if I put the work into it, I could level the profession to 100 in 18 days but that would really need determination. Right now I’m working on getting the Kaz’gorite pickaxe recipe, that will be my next craft. After that, I will probably do the rest of the +1 recipes as long as they give a point.
