tonight i was raiding with my guild. We got 3 DH in raid.
while we were waiting for the some people we all used darkness within 2 secs from each others ON the same position.
Graphically they are correct (darkness 1 fades, 2 secs, darkness 2 fades and so on), but if u look at the buffs, only the first darkness seems to work. Lemme be clear: if 2 DH use darkness at 2 secs of delay, the effectiveness of the darkness will be only 8 secs if they are overlapped.
Aware of this problem, i looked at the previous days of raid, in particular the fight of Rastakhan. The Siegebreaker Roka (big add) casts Meteor Leap (needs everyone to soak), the other DH used darkness before me, he absorbed 518.7k dmg, i absorbed 0 dmg (3 try went like that).
I tried again today at Jaina with 3 different darkness and the result didnt change.
Is that a “new feature” of BfA or is it a bug?
It’d be overpowered if you could stack it, so you can’t and that’s it really.
I’m fairly sure you can stack it.
It’s just not optimal.
You have a 20% chance to avoid damage. Let’s say you have 20 raiders, that averages to 4 avoiding damage.
Then those 16 have a 20% chance to avoid damage, so roughly 3.
Why would you stack them when you could use them separately? It’s more efficient like that.
If they havent fixed it, it worked before, we stacked 3 at the same time on mother mythic as well as a disc priest barrier for 15 ppl to pass through at the same time, as far as i understood it from the DH discord, the only drawback from this is that it has reduced effect when stacked. If i remember correctly, instead of 75% chance it was soemwhere around 62.5 if im not mistaken
