Something I don’t understand with SOD is “datamining”
I completely get that people want to know everything before its released, however, I don’t understand why datamining is allowed with SOD, because its was supposed to be “Discovery”
Blizzard might as well remove the “discovery” title if they allow datamining and its posted all over Wowhead and Youtube.

I haven’t looked yet, but when I go to Wowhead for other reasons, I do see the Spoiler banners!

i assume they have to preload to do final testing, and thats on live servers - the data comes in, is mined and voila?
not sure tho. aggrend did thank wowhead for their work, so it seems fine from dev side
They have to test the stuff at some point.
Even if they waited until release on Feb 8 it’d be datamined right away anyway.
Besides, after how they botched some runes in Phase 1 I wanna know how bad off the runes are for Phase 2 so I know whether or not I should main an alt instead going forward. Had they not botched Phase 1 for me I would have wanted to remain in the dark to “discover” everything as that is fun but P1 was so atrociously bad for me that I don’t want to waste time on a class that the devs clearly don’t know how to design for.
But, they did, so I want to be spoiled completely because the trust has been broken.

… it is also very useful as an early feedback source. So, so many leaks are pouring through intentionally drilled holes. This way Blizzard gets feedback about a week earlier.
Like I was browsing through the runes offered to my two heroes, and wondering why they only got about half of them, and the ones they did, what they mean. That’s how I decided that I’m most likely abandoning SoD.
Which is practical as I have other matters to attend to.
currently trying veery hard to fall inlove with warrior. my hunter looks like its been deleted, the way i want to play it. so yea, im considering abandoning SoD (only wow i play now) as well
The other main issues is, Blizz said that the stuff datamined might not even be used or real or even out until P3 or P4… So many people will get their hopes up and it might not even be true or real.
