People throw the word "addiction’ around a lot when it comes to video games. Truth is there’s no such thing as gaming addiction.

People are conflating addiction with compulsion.

Ruined his life?

Seems to be doing quite well for himself from my angle…

Over 100 million accounts. Over 100 million copies sold.

I just can’t stop thinking how… one night Henry Cavill was raiding and some 12 year old kid deducted him 50 DKP for being trash at the game, called him the n-word and like… Henry just had to sit there and take it and then become Superman and Geralt.

He also said he was “cured” by The Sims…

Feels like a “how do you do , fellow kids” thing to me…

Addiction ruins lives.

You can be addicted to anything. Not the game’s fault.

I read that too. My first reaction was “oh please…”

So one "addictive game ruined your life, another saved it.

Make your mind up Mr very rich celebrity who will never have to worry about putting food on your table.

I really do hate these type of interviews, they always remind me of

“Let me tell you a story about how I was just like you plebs out there…”

A bit like seeing multi billionaires like Elon Musk wandering around in jeans and a t shirt trying to look “one of the people”.

Sloane Rangers every one of them.

Yeh, Warcraft Addiction was a big thing back then. It was in the news a lot. I even remember someone dying in the first few days of TBC because they didn’t leave their computer to eat, drink or any other human needs.

Every now and again Blizz introduce some QOL to try and stop players spending so much time on the game, but then they go and counter their efforts by introducing something else at the same. time.

It’s just generally accepted nowadays.

Like, here I am, haven’t played the game for 3 days, but I’m still on the forums all day chatting/arguing about the game.

Is a transmog addiction a good thing?

it worth the discussion and i just mainly find it note worthy

id hazard a guess that there’s possibly more celebrities / politicians or famous people that have similar stories about this game

its just interesting to know that the words " addiction" and World of warcraft crop up quite often together

Are you talking about the guy in a Lan-center in Korea?
If so that was a blood clot from sitting still too much.

Possibly, I only really remember hearing about the story, I didn’t have a chance to look in to it. I was too busy playing Warcraft at the time.

I don’t know … I can get addicted to things very easily and have had to break so many addictions, including to phone games. But I don’t feel I’m addicted to Wow. I play every day but, if I’m away or go out for the day, it doesn’t bother me that I can’t play. I’m not sure why Wow is different in being non-addictive for me.

I could of ruled the world, but I chose to grind that gold for my 280% flying mount back in tbc.

I do admit, WoW has prevented me from doing other things in the past just because I wanted to play Wow.

It’s probably because you know you are going to be logging in and playing again soon. It will all still be there when you get back, just like you left it and just like it always was. It’s been there for so long, so easily accessible, a day away because you have other things to do in life is not a problem. It’ll be there, just like it always was.

But I promise you, your internet goes down for a month, you’ll be in the fetal position in the corner of your room with cold shakes.

You’re in far too deep!

seems like a lie i play the sims and i’m not cured oh wait i barely play wow now … so maybe he speaks the truth :stuck_out_tongue:

so the solution to wow addiction is to sell your soul to another greedy and evil corperation … do you know how many expansion packs this games have :stuck_out_tongue:

Didn’t Mila Kunis have to quit WoW because it was taking over her life?
