Wanted to know everyone’s opinion of the new dungeon?
I personally liked it, there were some fun bosses in there. Specifically Iridikron and Morchie were pretty interesting fights. The Lothar (Grommash for alliance) was pretty fun, but quite boring/easy. You just dodge a circle, that’s the mechanic. Evil Tyr was cool too.
anyway, it was interesting to run the dungeon. What do you guys think?
It was fun! On the easy side for me but that’s okay - I’ve got a team of heroic and mythic raiders coming along. If you’re a normal raid mode kindda person, this will absolutely suit you because it allows you to collect a small group and do progress in it. It’s like a raid for less people. Pretty nice.
The bosses are very simple but their mechanics definitely are not to be ignored. I particularly liked the boss with the time zones, the last boss, and evil chromie was interesting because you need to look at her hat, which means you gotta get your eyes off that bloody UI.
Will I do it many times? No, probably not. The drops are not good enough for my character to justify it, but it was still a fun adventure.
I also think the environments were really cool, and I liked that they reused a lot of models from earlier raid tiers and expansions etc. with small modifications, because it means we got more content with less time investment from Blizzard, and that’s really what an MMORPG needs more than anything.
Blight of galakrond was weirdley boring, I thought something more exciting would happen.
Tyr was real under tuned.
Morchie was… Irritating to say the least. Nearly great design, but some of those helmets were so hard to spot, especially on my big monitor… Like one of them wears a tiny crown, hard to see vs the pumpkin one for example.
Time lost battlefield was thematic, but very boring in terms of mechanics.
Iridikron and Manifested timeways were my favourite.
Aye, that was my experience as well. I did ending up pugging the run, as my guildies were already running it. Found a decent group of 4 guildmembers and we ran it, a few deaths on some of the bosses, (mostly down to me going in fully blind lmao). Morchie was weirdly hard, the mirror-copies seemed to spawn way faster than the time-traps. It became so much easier with a few people dead, since we had more time traps, which seems like a weird design lol.
I did actually quite enjoy the Blight of Galakrond fight, it turned into a “pass the ball of plague around” minigame until the add casts breath on tank
I loved It. Player It as augevoker and had alot of fun. I love how They made that either way: One of the villains won. (Iridikron prob made so that It would happen like that.)
I love the design too. 10/10, gonna do that again.
Went in blind with guild. Progressed through it in like 3 hours. It was the most fun I had in WoW in a very long time, probably since legion.
Banger content, by far the best mega-dungeon they ever did.
Did the first 4 bosses last night with a friend and some randoms. I wrote in the lfg that we go fresh run without having any experience. We stayed until the end of iridikron and we killed all 4.
It was the closest experience I had with wow lately that made nostalgic with old wow. Everyone was talking tactics and nobody was leaving until we would win. And that was a pug.
Dungeon looked nice, and it has it’s identity (that’s the most important part).
Though some bosses seemed a bit to complex as for the dungeon. Some bosses has 3 phases, with several different sets of abilities, etc. It felt like doing a raid, rather than dungeon.
We will see how it feel in m+, when it’s split in two parts.
Oh and Morchie definetly needs some tuning. While we 1-2shot all other bosses - we needed like 8 wipes to get her, she feels more difficult than the rest of the bosses (to be exact: 1. Her split phase needs bigger models - they are to small and to far apart atm 2. She needs to spawn 10 traps instead of 8 (this results in loose adds later in the fight) 3. Adds run way to fast and 200k melee hits feels a bit to much).
I would give 7/10 to the dungeon (Tazavesh and Mechagon were better ones).
I wish I could tell you, but Blizzard is keeping me from trying it out because there’s only a mythic version at the moment. If they had launched it alongside a heroic version (something they SHOULD have done), I could give you my opinion. Instead I have to wait two months to continue a main storyline.
It was the same with Return to Karazhan, Mechagon and Tazavesh, if you give it some time and get some gear, it will be okay. It is challenging yes, but far from impossible.
Fair, I think the M+ version will not be released before 10.2, and there IS an achievement for finishing it before next raid tier, so that one might go away.
Aye I heard something about that, never played it on PTR. I have not tried Hard Mode either, so I imagine that the difficulty of it all can be boosted if so desired.
Only Deios is in Hardmode. Other than that hardmode “only” requires for you to do it without anyone dying as to unlock Deios Hardmode (and also kill him to get the hardmode loot from him. And I presume it also requires that nobody dies even after you put the 4 orbs back)
I know; and I complained about every single one of them.
This time it’s worse though; because they’re gating a main storyline behind it.
I’m not doing it. Period. I refuse to support a mode that I hate and don’t want in the game. This game has difficulty options for a reason. And to deny those who loathe mythic (and the mindset that comes with it), is insulting.
