Done it on a casual saturday evening. Not sure why we need so many portals in it. And that boss where you need to find the right one is just terrible designed. Imagine not having a 29 inch monitor.
I am not sure about the discussion about the storyline. Was i supposed to pick up a quest? I just got summoned to the entrance and we runned the dungeon
But look how much content you have now as a casual. The mega dungeon is unironically casual content. It’s tuned for normal mode raiders progressing heroic. Else they re-introduced old naxxramas, time rifts, and this dragon daycare thing. Soon there will be kalimdor dragon racing, story lines for red eredar, and much more in the next patch in a few weeks too. They will also tune Dawn down for heroic soon as well, and it will probably also be nerfed for M+ later.
Wow has the problem though of trying to make content for too many small groups, and then people run out of the content they specifically enjoy too fast, or feel left alone like the pvp community
They were in the base expansion launch patch and not megadungeons.
But, yes. Those were a mistake (although; I believe only SoB had a storyline behind it, right? King’s Rest didn’t as far as I remember - I might be mistaken because I mainly played alliance though).
Sure I’ll give you that, but it does show a clear path that certain dungeons are only released on Mythic at the start (Megadungeons are all only released on Mythic at start so this isn’t something that should come as a shock regarding Dawn), questline or not.
Do I agree with it? Well it doesn’t really matter to me as I’ll do them anyway so I don’t really have a stance on it.
But would you also have been fine with it if it didn’t have a quest in it or would it still have been something to bring up just because it’s content that’s only released on certain difficulties?
I feel like people focus too much on the fact that it says “mythic” and assume it is an unclimbable hill. It really isn’t, Mythic dungeons are not designed for 0.1 % of players, it is not the difficulty of mythic raiding. It can be done in pugs, and even easier with coordination in a guild or friend group.
If you think the issue is the fact that it can’t be queued, I don’t really see the issue, or atleast I don’t perceive it to be an issue. There IS a queue for it, it’s just not random, the leader gets to pick the party members. If this is an issue for you, you make the group and invite as you please. It really is not a big deal. And if you believe it to be, you will have to accept that maybe this content was not made for you, and you will have wait for it to be, with the release of Heroic. That is fine, not all content has to be for everyone. Even if it there are quests or lore connected to it. Most lore relevant quest lines that culminate in PvE content is provided first at one difficulty, and later at an easier one, same for raids and LFR queues.
It doesn’t come as a shock, but I hate it. And I truly believe it should not happen. There just isn’t any good reason to do it.
I still wouldn’t like it, because I simply believe it’s a form of discrimination against part of the playerbase. But… I will admit that the storyline issue has made it considerably more of a hot ticket to me. It’s not okay to block people like that, imo.
So… Yes, it would still be an issue, but considerably less.
Sorry, but that means absolutely nothing.
Just because YOU don’t have an issue with it, doesn’t mean others don’t.
Yes it is.
And what would be the harm in including an heroic version at the same time?
Please englighten me.
No it’s not.
That’s not the issue here. You really don’t get it.
What if Blizzard would start doing this:
Releasing LFR first. And then after two months they would release mythic.
The reaction would be completely crazy in all likelyhood.
But since it’s the other way around; it’s suddenly okay?
No, it’s not. It’s not okay in way, shape or form. And it wouldn’t be okay either if the shoe was on the other foot. It’s just BAD form towards part of their playerbase.
Treat difficulties the same. That’s all I’m asking for.
Depends how one define casuals
I dont see it as content for me…maybe if they make an easier non mythic version.
Did the weekly mythic quest today with my awesome guild. I think the max we did was a +2 - they ran with their alts,i tagged along.
I have no desire for anything harder… my awesome guild can do harder but i dont see the fun in the above 10 mythics…
To me there is nothing casual about it…like at all
Casual is an overused term that doesn’t really have any meaning anyway; because people all have their own definition of it.
Better to use terms like ‘non big 3 players’, ‘world content players’, ‘solo players’, etc.
That way its much more clear what such a group of players actually (mainly) does or does not do in WoW.
i dont really understand why they could not have released HC at the same time. There would be absolutely no impact on the rest of the player base.
There are some mechanics in there that might catch out players and make it difficult for a Autoqueue group so maybe they need more tuning time.
Morchie on mythic is somewhat challenging so i can see it being a group breaker if not tuned correctly.
But i agree with your sentiment Tah, it probably should have come at the same time.
