Can we have the old day/night cycle back ingame please?
Like where the night was actually night, and dark?
“Night phase” now is basically just a clowded afternoon.

They added it in the form of inky black potion. Probably thought it’s more immersive than a setting in options.
Most likely the default nights aren’t dark because people complained they can’t see well.

Well, with the old monitors i can see why people would have trouble seeing.
I don’t know why could not this be a client-side option, since we have colorblind, bad eyeight version, then why not something like OP said?

As someone living in Ireland it’s 24/7 like that here… 
I’ve already made it such that I ALWAYS use Inky Black Potions. Just makes questing infinitely easier to see highlighted stuff, plus the game becomes gorgeous.
I would love proper night.
I flew over ohnaran plains once at night while the fyrakk event was going on and it was perfect. Nice and dark. Proper night time atmosphere.
It just need settings IMO so that others who prefer it to be lighter can still enjoy that.

Probably the main reason I gave up playing this game to be honest was the dreary evening darkness all the time. Players can have their dark nights, but for me I would love the option to switch the thing off. It’s not even proper night time its just a grey mask filter that dulls everything. Also if you only can play in the evening it makes for endless dreary, dull, dark, depressing, annoying gameplay. Hate it. Seriously hate it.
Totally understand that, and the suggestions in this thread would solve that:
Making it a toggle, client side.
Want it? Turn it on
Hate it? Turn it off.

It was a problem for me in classic too.
Personally, I’d be all for deep cinematic nights with optimised skyboxes and ground light sources - if paired with a day/night cycle that isn’t 24 hours. Let’s say… 5 hours. 2.5 hours of day, then 2.5 of night.
Syncs up every 120 hours or 5 days. It’s out of step with your week so that you’d only see the same game-daylight at the same local-time on the same weekday every 7 weeks.
Everyone would get to see a bit of everything and both could be made visually interesting. WoW already has some very cool sunrises and sunsets, but I rarely see either because I am just not online at those times of day.

But yeah i want dark nights back as well. I mostly play in the evening and at night and some zones are just way too bright it just hurts my eyes when its dark irl as well
