Good to see thread still going but bad still no word from Blizzard.
Yeah, seems like sticking the head in the sand and pretend it isnt an issue is their tactic.
Again, all that have twiter, go there and bring this up with the accounts linked to Blizzard, the Devs etc.
They pay more attention to twiter.
Iāve tried, got no response there either, they dont care.
I think all we can do is keep pushing the issue. I noticed someone on the Community Council raised the issue, so we can only hope it will help: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/small-dead-servers/1153006
sad person is still sad. Just a quick post to remind people that small servers have feelings too, and weāre not just for Christmas ā¦
Very sad too here.
we cannot wait for the new patch, hoping some existing members will return,
but it wonāt fix any of the dead servers problems.
And we donāt even know when patchday is.
This deserves attention.
What an absolute disasterā¦
Microsoft where u at
Letās be honest here though: Blizzard has obviously seen this thread, but they have chosen to ignore it. A thread with thirty thousand views, and especially one that has been going on for three years, is hard to miss. Then again, we want the devs to see it. Devs never post in these forums, while the are seen now and then on threads in the US GD, so maybe they go the extra step ofā¦ not reading these at all. Still, I think they have seen it. There is no way they have notā¦ right?
Just reroll?
There is no way that someone from Blizzard have NOT seen this thread. There are plenty of other threads out there, with only a few posts on them, all about butterflies and flowers (ie, generally non-content) that blues reply to, so theyāre very obviously active to one extent or another on all of these forums. Whether they have taken the matter further up the chain is another question but, again, I canāt see itās possible that it hasnāt been.
Which leads us simply to the conclusion that theyāre deliberately avoiding posting anything here.
There could be several reasons for that, including but not restricted to, they havenāt actually decided WHAT to do with quiet retail servers; theyāve decided to do something but arenāt ready to tell us; theyāre too busy with other more important things (to them); theyāve decided to do nothing for now and just hope we stop complaining (obviously a complete pipe dream!).
They are very obviously aware of the issue, because there is a fairly long thread over on the Community Council forums, where one of the devs, responsible for servers, replied. Admittedly he didnāt actually address any of the issues raised ā¦ but he did answer a question related to his job, in that thread, and there is no way he would have done that without actually reading the thread to that point.
If people reading this thread go over and read that one too, and keep ālikingā those types of posts, at least it might help bring more attention to it.
Sure ā¦ Iāll re-roll my 10+ characters that Iāve had for years on the same server, ask all my guild members to do the same, and set up my guild elsewhere, and ignore all of the achievements, history and reputation weāve built up on our server since 2007.
Iāll then hope that the server we all reroll and set up the guild on, does not go the same way as the current one, or perhaps we should all just reroll on a server thatās packed to the gills and sit in queues and watch spam chat scroll past so fast you have to switch it off to avoid having a fit.
Sounds like a plan that Iād never thought of. So thanks for that excellent piece of advice.
I donāt understand the resistance to merging the lowest pops together. Are they so worried about sending the wrong signals to investors, that they willfully neglect the experience of those on these ghost servers??
Great, solved!
Arenāt we down to enough players to close all the servers and migrate everyone to a single one now?
Get real.
This is serious issue for those that enjoy the game and are stuck in very low populated realms.
Begone troll.
Seriously.
Just level a new character for the next season, on a populated server.
Just ignore them. Theyāre the type of people who canāt empathise with others or put others first. They probably abandon others just so they can get what they want, irrespective of how it affects those around them and see no problem at all up and moving if thereās an issue, because they only think about what they want for themselves. On the plus side, they probably do it often enough that no-one ever comes to rely on them.
Weāve had people like that in the guild before. āMe first and onlyā seems to be their motto.
I started a thread about free transfers and stuff (Low Realms: You really don't care do you?) and I was wondering why there are SO many realms. Like, I know the game has had times when many many millions were playing, but were they ever enough to fill so many realms? I doubt it. Thatās probably one of the main factors why there are so many dead servers- many were not even needed in the first placeā¦ Just merge them and make a proper realm out of so many dead ones.
