Dead servers MEGATHREAD - Ghostlands/Dragonblights plea to Blizzard

It is frustrating to see that, even in the WoW Community Council, Blizzard are effectively ignoring the issue of low population realm in retail. There is a thread there from December last year where the only response from Blizzard had nothing to do with the actual reason for the thread (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/small-dead-servers/1153006) - yet there is a similar thread relating to classic realms, where Blizzard have been very happy to jump in and give lots of information and feedback https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/thoughts-on-realm-consolidation/1263429

I thought the point of the Community Council was so that there was a better communication between us and them - yet if they continue to pick and choose what to reply to, then it’s no different to the rest of the forums.

Many feel it’s a slap in the face who they are willing to react to issues in Classic but ignore Retail when it comes to realm populations.

In my case i’ve just accepted fate to be forever ignored and have to deal with the resulting recruitment struggles. The kick in the face for me happened when they announced tbc realm mergers/closures but continue to ignore us retail players.

Blizz will not do anything, they get to much money from mass transfers from dead realms.

Shout out from the unmerged low population realm of Chamber of Aspects. Please, Blizzard

major difference comes in how old tbc realms are compared to retail and how you can still play the game but with some setbacks in retail vs classic a dead realm is unplayable. Ideally Blizzard would make a poll on people who actively play on dead realms if they want a full merger with their dead servers with multiple ones like it with them being able to claim their original names on these new servers if they arent used by already active player

In Retail they make ‘connections’ so everyone gets to keep their names, guild names etc.

Well I’ve noticed they’ve made a nod towards acknowledging some of the issues on dead realms, with the new Auction House update.

Of course this is only the small stuff so, for example, the legendaries base items wouldn’t have been included in this. Honestly, for me when I was on a dead realm, these items were not the issue. Sure they were more expensive than a higher population realm, but at least they were available - and I could afford them because the stuff I sold was also higher value too.

One of the reasons we left was because people just could not find the legendary base items they needed. Now if they opened up the AH for ALL items, that might have made a difference.

Yep that would honestly fix a lot of the issues, just having the base mats might be enough tbh as they’re a lot cheaper on other servers

except they arent making connections anymore, thats kinda the point of the thread.

Yeah
it’s like they’re doing their best to completely avoid that conversation.

What happens when 6 connected realms are still forming a dead realm network, and years pass with the issue not being resolved ?

People have been asking for more connections after the last lot ended abruptly.
