Gold changing hands is not a gold sink, gold being removed from the economy is a gold sink.
In your opinion in my opinion its kinda useless, and it makes it so that you dont see a warrior tank for example but just a warrior.

Fair enough.
So you dont have dual specc on your chars?
For someone who wants to do multiple things in the game, this opens up more options for me.
I like to pvp, but pvping in pve specc is awful (and pveing in pvp specc is awful). Having to respecc back and fourth several times a week is painful. Not only that, but i gotta have to FARM gold as well in order to be able to afford it. And i really dont like farming npcs for gold. I find it boring and a waste of time:)
Playing as healer is boring outside grouped content (because you dont deal dmg to do stuff solo).
Forcing people to do stuff they dont enjoy in a game, is bad design.
It just ends up with people raid-logging.
I do but its just 2 tanking specs on my warrior, and on my rogue I dont have DS though as the only thing I would swap between would be daggers and swords. If we wouldnt have had DS my warrior would just be fury/prot for all of vanilla this time around now I have like 5 fights where I can swap back to deep prot seeing as im in resistance gear with no agressive stats really.
Why I dont see it as useful is because you could already respec if you wanted to go and do pvp or farm in the open world, in my mind it for sure is more convenient to press a button but it makes you less unique.
Depends the person I would say, for me it dosnt make me more or less likley to raid log.
Then you’re basically only interested in 1 part of the game, which is fine ofc. If you only want to raid, then go for it.
But for those who want to do more than just pve, the dual specc is amazing.
yes, and i have to set up stuff every time i do. Its not a big deal, its just annoying in the long run. Not to mention the hundreds of golds i have to sped everytime i wanna do something else.
I dont wanna have to farm and spend lots of time, doing something else, JUST so i can play the game.
What? how does me respeccing makes me more unique than using a dual specc?
Well, for me it does. I quit in classic vanilla, because the “game didnt allow me to play the game” consistantly. (edit typo)
(having to logg off with world buffs, unable to play the char i want to, and having to spend 100-150g a week on respeccs.
I for one, love dual specc and everything it brings (same with boons). And ill be honest, nothing you say will change my mind on this.
It actually do make you slightly more unique as people will know you as “that healing priest” for example if they usually see you healing in dungeons.
I would be all for having a second spec that only activates in BGs for example, or if the DS could only be activated in capital citys then it would be great as well. Seeing as what it actually do make worse is that you can change comp per encounter really now.
And there the convenience comes in again and I do agree its more convenient than without dual spec, but in my mind something being useful and something being convenient are not really the same thing.
Im totaly fine with you liking dual spec im for sure in the minority that dont like it, I use it but I dont like it, but if we talk about boons they are a god sent for sure, it was super annoying to deal with world buffs before that was introduced in 2019 classic.
I’m fine with era as it is. If they can finally stop changing it, I can live with the current status. I could do without chronoboons and other changes but it doesn’t bother me personally in a substantial way.
I don’t see the need for more changes to TBC though. Apart from the fact that I’d like Blizzard to release the dungeons in their original state with some bug fixes where neccessary. Not in the 2.4 version, which includes multiple nerfs applied over the time during TBC.
That would alleviate some of the class changes in 2.4 to a certain extent regarding pre 2.4 content without breaking any balance.
And of course I’d like to have the atunements kept intact.
Apart from that TBC is pretty much fine. It’s not perfect. But nothing really is, no matter what you look at nowadays in Blizzards games.
And the community is massively split up.
Actually I’m looking forward nowadays to Classic+. For all I care it can have all those QoL features people require, be as close to Retail as they wish, as long as there are old versions of the game available, that are still somewhat close to the original.
I’ll be playing those old versions whenever I have time to play and I know there’ll be enough players who like it that way. Maybe no realms with players in the tens of thousands. All the better, since I’ll stick with a guild anyway.
Yes, I know, I’m so totally old fashioned…
Maybe this is a pug thing, since i only do pve with guildies. And having guildies who can perform multiple roles with the same char, is overall a good thing.
Being known as “only able to heal” is not necessarily a good thing when it comes to being “unique”
But i understand your point now.
I’d consider saving 100’s of gold per week is both useful and convenient for me.
If respeccs were free, all the time, we would be having a different discussion.
And it closed the whole old world of hybrid specs, where you actually had to think about priorities and craft spec for your personal needs, rather than brainlessly copy&pasting guide.
It was bad gameplay indeed, but could be solved by other means. Easiest way to solve it would be to let world buffs tick while character is offline. Much better solution.
Or just make it so world buffs dosent work inside raids at all?
That wouldn’t be classic. World buffs were in vanilla and they should be in Classic, for those, dedicated enough to arrange timely head turn-in, summons to flower and dire maul, protect their raid from ganks and dispells. That’s not a trivial task and it should be rewarded by good parses.
They definitely should not be a part of everyone’s weekly routine, where you must AFK in Stormwind, then pay a hefty fee to some multi-account bots, then pay a fee to hunters, then abuse addons to track flower cooldowns. It is just boring and bland gameplay.
I don’t - protesting Dual spec. I would have been fine with cheap - or even free - Dual spec at your capital city trainers. Free dual spec everywhere is too over the top-easy mode.
Oh yes! I always loved them despite this forces me to do instances.
It wouldn’t be classic if they world buffs were expected for every raid, but that is what is classic today. Culture has changed a lot, the game needs changes to adapt to the people playing today.
You can’t be for no changes and then expect the game to be anywhere similar to what it was intended when players have had over 20 years to optimize the fun out of it.
Im not sure i follow on this. Its not like the hybrid speccs disappeared, now you can even have 2 of them. You can still think about prioritizing your specc and craft it to your liking. You can even have 2 unique speccs now, you’re no longer limited to just ONE thing.
The majority of the players are pretty much playing the same talents with the same specc. This doesnt change with or without dual specc.
Or do what they do in tbc / wotlk, no more world buffs:) (Like someone stated earlier) The world buffs situation isnt a hill im willing to die on, though. The boons are nice, it helps, but i dont think its what makes or breaks my will to play the game.
Dual specc is, however:)
