Dealing with melee cleaves

I wanted to ask, objectively, constructively. What’s the way of dealing with double melee in Solo shuffle as affli? Precognition and interrupt bar is a must, that much is clear. However my general issue is following:

  • If I stand and cast, I die, no healer can keep me up when I try to be offensive.
  • If I kite then my survability is extended a little bit but there is next to no pressure from me as cast windows are greatly limited, also against some comps kitting is more like last surv measure than something that can be done consistently.
  • Last option is to spam Life drain with Essence drain but that produce no damage nor sustainability.

I am sure there are efficient tactics, so if any one could share how to play affli in current season it would be greatly appreciated, main issue is, as I’ve mentioned, surveability and amount of incoming instant cc. I play several classes, warlock is my main I play the longest and I would hope best, yet it is by far most problematic class to PvP with right now, which saddens me.

honestly your mistake is a more fundamental one mate : ur playing warlock and attempting pvp, at best u can be a running punching bag

You both are playing destruction that’s your fault. As demo i can survive for a very long time, but most of the time we still lose.

Ur correct, unfortunately.
No designer time was ever spent on Destro in PvP, it’s pretty obvious as i’ve written in a few threads.

Hey Raven,

A couple of tips I can provide are;

  1. Punish opponent melee cleave for going on you. This, you can do, by fully kiting and not doing much damage. Meanwhile the other DPS will continue to hit them so its a win, and the moment they leave you alone; go for your DoTs. Remember; you always wanna get your UA cast off first, not corruption or agony, these are instant anyway,
  2. Do the kiting with Soulburn + Teleport and with the long/shorter gateway PvP talent,
  3. Make sure you always slow curse on them (exh.),
  4. Play Howl to get UAs off,
  5. If you are kicked on UA; cast Soul Rot,
  6. Make sure you hit Dark Pact very quickly, like the moment they connect you, hit Dark Pact,
  7. As you go more into the game, you might be in a position where they are on you but you are far away from your gateway; always remember that you can cast it instantly now,
  8. Always look for an opportunity to fully buffed Soul Rot + Dran Life + Soulburn combo,
  9. Don’t play with the UE CDR talent. Make sure you are picking the talent that makes UE 40% dmg. reduction, picking 45 sec. Dark Pact is okay though,
  10. Remember to use your healthstone with Soulburn. Its almost a Lay on Hands,
  11. And lastly, remember this; sometimes you may play pitch perfect but your healer may just fail to keep up or your other DPS may not peel.

Hope at least some of these helps.

What advice you have for demo? My mate is a unholy dk and the heal holy priest but she Easby to change the class either Monk or evoker depends on what she likes more.

I play affli, I’ve mentioned it in original post.

Thanks for constructive reply. I’ve do all of these except two points: I don’t play Howl and I don’t play Soul rot as I’ve didn’t realize it is different spell school. I will definitely give it a go, thanks! (ok, actually I don’t also use Gateway PvP talent, I feel like am bit short on PvP talent slots as is, is it really worth it considering low usage frequency?)

you should use demonic circle not on cd but almost
