Death Knights

Hello,

Could someone explain to me why on Earth the allied races can be DKs? Like freaking foxes for example? Isn’t it against the LORE?

Anyone can be raised as a Death Knight by the Lich King. Even a CUTE fox.

Can you tell us why is it against the lore?

Unless you missed it, I asked a question; yet you answer with another one…

I just wan’t to know if it makes sense. I’d be really happy if someone more knowledgable in the WoW lore than me reply. I find it not right.

After Bolvar got owned by Sylvanas (IN A VISION OF THE FUTURE) he lost all his pride so he just raised whatever he could.

edit: added the vision for clarification

1st generation DKs were warlocks. 2nd generation were primarily former paladins. 3rd generation (WotLK/Ebon Blade DKs) could be pretty much any former hero, and Bolvar continues this trend with the “new” DKs.

Well in that case no, it’s not against the lore. Bolvar raised the allied races, not Arthas, like the original DKs.

This happens before Sylvanas beats him.

That didnt happen yet,

But yeah Bolivar went all DK creation mode, DEATH KNIGHTS FOR EVERYONE!

He knew it was coming then. It’s the only explanation.

I suggest you give the allied starting races a go, you can get the answers straight from the big guy himself.

In a nutshell, if it dies in the LK can bring it back, not only was you considered a hero before this event but the LK needs help given the whupping heading his way. He seems to be… compliant with the horde and alliance, for now, it seems to make sense that the great heroes can continue to serve given his abilities(actually that presents my own question, can people refute DK status? I recall something similar to this in borean tundra but they wanted to serve).

I mean, what would anybody stand to gain if that was not the case? LK gets a strong potential thrall (no not that one) whilst protecting Azeroth from a threat that poses to consume everything, himself included.

Well, in that case he well deserved being kicked in the as* by MarySylvanas. Raising a fox? Honestly…

We don’t know why Bolvar is raising new Death Knights. We will probably find out in Shadowlands prepatch

I don’t see many reasons why Bolvar shouldn’t raise an Fox. I really don’t think he cares about the race the hero used to be, as long as they’re able to kill stuff after being raised.

Arthas set the bar pretty low with noems already. Anything goes if they can be DKs.

In that shadowlands cutscene I got the impression that LK fully expected Sylvannas, there was no initial attempt at resistance until she arrived which would have probably been the case if there was a surprise attack, I’m assuming he has full control over the undead mass however, given the scenario I think is appropriate. I missed a lot of legion storytelling which is probably crucial.

Maby he raised them because of N’Zoth
The thing is blizzard is slacking, the old dk have AN AMAZING START ZONE. LIKE OMG! the NEw DK are… well YOU ARE NOW A DK! Go to SW GG have fun! kill stuff for me okay go go ty ty have fun luv you bye

I have a Night Elf DK alt. The starting zone was so great. It’s rather sad that it is not the case now.

That’s pretty much the same for all the allied races though. “Hey, you’re one of our heroes, now go help our new allies.”

The original DK experience is amazing for sure, only eclipsed by the DH one, but what the allied races are getting is perfectly in line with them still just being allied races.
