So every time I open a target from stealth as assassination, there seems to be a 50% chance that Deathstalker’s Marks aren’t consumed at all until after Indiscriminate Carnage (no idea if the issue is linked with this).
Anyone else experience this? Am I missing something, or is this class just overall so insanely bugged or badly designed that it’s virtually unplayable in any content?
After this sequence, more often than not, I’m still at 3 stacks on Deathstalker’s Mark. Definitely not me, since I get different results with the exact same sequence.
Only with aoe build though, as I tried ST today with no issues whatsoever.
After starting to track the “Darkest Night” buff, I realized the issue:
Applying Deathstalker’s Mark using Ambush from stealth WHILE having the Darkest Night buff prevents you from consuming any charges of the Mark until the Darkest Night buff is a) consumed, or b) expires.
I don’t know if this is intended or not, but I can’t find any tooltip that mentions it at all. Regardless, the issue never occurs any more, as I now obviously never open with Ambush on a target when I have the buff.
I guess you can still open with ambush as long as you build to 7 to consume the active darkest night buff asap, rather than assuming your first envenom can be 5+ since you have an active mark. Although I assume opening with garrote on aoe is better than ambush anyway.
One thing that could happen with this approach is if the darkest night buff ticks down to under 15s for whatever reason (e.g. between flights on dawnbreaker) the buff might fade before activatation and ambush won’t be available either.
Also Blizz please fix, rogue has enough jank to be dealing with.
