Why can a tailor craft Embroidered Deep Sea Satin, but not Deep Sea Satin? What is the reason behind this? Or have I missed something here?
A LW with skinning knows mob X will give what he needs, or he can just switch to mob Y. Same goes with BS and mining.
So why can’t a tailor craft the cloth he needs? Just to waste our time?
That is how cloth worked for years now …
It drops from humanoid mobs and some other sources for everybody (increased rate for tailors) and only the top end cloth will be created via lower level cloth and sometimes other ingredients.
Cloth is not gathered like herbs or ore and to me that is not a big deal.
And because you asked:
Neither can other professions, it is a different profession to gather herbs and ore it is not the profession that creates products out of it. Tailoring has a second profession slot to use because there is no need for a separate gathering profession. If there would be some profession like skinning to create cloth from humanoid bodys (extract viable material from clothes and rags they are wearing), I would be fine, but that would remove cloth drops from most other sources just like it is with skinning.
So if you can’t wait to farm deep sea satin, go to the next auction house, nobody apart from tailors really has a need for it, so there is plenty of cloth on the auction house most of the time.
