What’s the default chat’s font size? Is it 13 pt? When I reset the UI I have no font size selected (12, 14, 16 18 pt). When I click on 12 - the font gets smaller, when on 14 - the font gets bigger.
Why there’s no option to have default font size? (I have to click on Chat Defaults in setting to make it normal again but then it changes all other options to default as well)
My chat got bugged after last patch 8.2.5. The font automatically got smaller (managed to fix it) but I see no messages at all in the chat box. I can’t see my messages, other people’s messages, guilds messages anything. I can see the guilds mesages in guild tab after clicking J. I can only see battle tag whispers when I talk on battle net app outside of the game.
When I talk on /s (general chat in game) I can see the text only above my head.
I did the “User Interface wipe solution” but it didn’t help. I used “search and repair” option in battle net application - found no problems.
/resetchat has been broken since the patch. If you run it, you lose all the chat channels. You have to go back into settings and click each one. Also, the font is very very small.
Support helped me - I got all channels unticked in the settings option, that’s why they were ‘hidden’.
I am just really surprised - why does the /resetchat or chat defaults option make everything unticked? It should tick everything instead. Plus my font size is once again small and nothing wants to change it
It just doesn’t fit. Before the patch I didn’t have any font size checked (as I mentioned I believe it was 13). Now, when I set 12 - it’s just too small. 14 - once again small (I believe it was bigger before). When I type on chat with 14font set the writing letters are bigger than the chat messages above.
When typing on font 16 - the typing words are smaller than the messages.
Before the patch and those bugs/changes the typing letters had exactly the same size as the sent messages on the chat above. I do not know how to fix this.
Hey Wildfox, are you using any addons? Some addons include font modifications which could be overwriting the default, so running through the steps here could help. Once this is done, if it hasn’t reset already (after restarting world of warcraft) try the command: /console cvar_default
This will reset all graphics too, but it should resolve anything not being its default state.
In the rare case that this is still happening you would need to try a scan and repair to repair the font files directly.
I have chat bugged only on my main character - it’s working fine on my other characters. This is weird.
