Hi,
Retail gets stuck at times, and big cities have very poor performance.
Can I uninstall the game (keeping the data files which take up a lot of disk space). Then copy them again and reinstall WoW at this point? I know I can, but won’t the old data files cause the same problem as I have now? Better to download them all over again?
That wasn’t the kind of topic I was expecting xD
Apart from your addons folder, I don’t see why you’d want to keep anything in Data since it’s just the same game files you’ll have after reinstalling
Just keep the addon and wtf folders and u good .
Or if u wanna clean reinstal get rid of everything
The greatest bait ever…
, i think big cities have message for u i heard of less stressing and more fun games u can try
Sounds like OP is running WoW on a potato.
Maybe give us your specs before doing anything stupid?
Good title, came in expecting something else.
to be fair a potato is the prefered machine of most of the playerbase
What kind of potato is the best? Asking for a friend.
I pref. Matilda.
Most of us can only afford potatoes.
Okay, I thought it would be one of those “Delete X” troll posts, so this is a relief to read
If you wanna play it later on and have an SSD, you can move the game folder over there. When you return, and have the folder located (under the Play button, or it should rather say Install), an update is all you’ll need, and you’re all set again. (Both for the game, and any addons you may use.)
I hope this helps!
Thanks for such lively discussions!
I found that, just in case, I will install the entire retail from the beginning.
…what a bait lol
Yes, i clicked on this thread expecting a hot take.

It’s what I did both with the game and addons and I’ve seen other people state they’re having bugs and so on. I’ve reported the dozen bugs I got, the game “got stuck” maybe once per playing session (fixed with a reload) and every addon, except for Altoholic which I use rather actively to track progress on my main and all my alts get wiped and re-installed before I begin playing on a Wednesday. I’d say that my game is working smoothly for 90% of the time because of it. I’m already assuming that for the first six months of DF that there will be bugs, especially with addons. This is what I did. If you copy me, you should make certain ALL data files for the game AND for the battle.net stuff is wiped before a reinstall of the game. Run a Scan and Repair after installing for an internal “reset” of data too.
Im running wow on a 4090 and 13900k and game runs like crap since pre patch.
That was once the attraction to WoW. It was one of the few games that did not require over priced hardware and ran comfortably on potatoes. Today it don’t seem like it.
