Hello all,
I wanted to share an idea that could expand the longevity and excitement around Delve content in Retail WoW.
What if Delves adopted a monthly rotation system across previous expansions, similar in spirit to the Timewalking event?
Each month, Delves could be themed around a specific past expansion (for example: Legion, Shadowlands, Battle for Azeroth, etc.), allowing players to:
-
Experience Delve-style gameplay adapted to iconic zones or themes from that expansion
-
Encounter enemies, environments, and mechanics inspired by that era
-
Earn expansion-specific rewards, such as mounts, transmogs, pets, or currencies
This system could bring several benefits:
-
Content Variety: Keeps Delves feeling fresh by rotating environments and themes regularly
-
Nostalgia Factor: Gives players a reason to revisit older expansions in a meaningful and modernized format
-
Player Engagement: Encourages players to log in monthly to see what’s next in the rotation
-
Reward Motivation: Expansion-themed rewards (similar to Timewalking) would create strong incentives to participate
Additionally, you could consider:
-
Scaling difficulty tiers tied to progression or seasonal systems
-
Weekly bonuses or quests tied to the current Delve rotation
-
A meta-achievement for completing Delves across multiple expansion rotations
Overall, this could turn Delves into a highly anticipated recurring feature, much like Timewalking, while also making better use of WoW’s vast library of past content.
Maybe they are already in progress of making such content, but it came to my mind and I can see some potential.
