I want to both complain a bit but also warn some people that might not be aware - Wowhead just put up an article, where I learned that they have changed something from the previous seasons: we can’t get a map basically in week 1 for some odd reason. Only when you grind out around 20 Bountiful t8 delves. Edit: with opening bountiful chests with keys
Idk, fun detected? Gearing too fast? Idk we can grind out hero gear in m+ but the map could give you a little headstart for the week.
I think it’s a bit of a useless change. But here’s the warning: if you were lucky enough to find a summoning item for Ky’veza: DON’T use ir right away, you will not get a map before you progress the delvers journey this season.
As someone who has Delves and Crafting as my gearing up path, this has almost 0 effect on my progress.
Let’s not be overly drammatic. We aren’t “losing” out on anything important. In the absolute worstest of bad cases we Delvers will reach our “BiS” like 1 week later with this change, and even that is stretching it a lot.
It would be “fun detected” if they removed the gold reward from the floor.
The fun detected is more that I usually got excited the last 2 seasons with chance on a hero piece I could turn into usable tier. Was hoping on something before raid.
So perhaps it doesnt affect your progress, but it removed a tad of my excitement for tomorrow.
Furthermore it could give me a headstart in gearing. And since it had been available last seasons, now it’s not.
But thanks for your reply, I understand there’s different opinions xD. Just wanted to put a warning so you dont waste your item
And to reply to the other comment: Yeah, so I calculated from wowheads article:
1500 from the weekly quest
150 per t8 completion
250 per chest unlock with key.
Is like 18 times a bountiful t8 with a key for renown 2
I don’t want to give the wrong impression. I understand that you were prepared to have a Hero item from Delves to possibly immediately convert into Tier set. But that would also have an impact on the progress of your co-players in the same content who do not want to spend time levelling their Delves up to T11 for the same chance. We even had some threads on this forum regarding the fact that quite a few players who do partake in the Mythic raiding scene or in the M+ pushing scene are not happy that they also have to do Delves to stay “relevant” in their progress in comparison to their co-players.
Indeed they are separate. And since both of us are Delvers, you know from the previous 2 seasons that our bottleneck is the acquisition of Gilded Crests. Missing 1, 2 or even 3 weeks of a Delver’s Map for extra Hero items will not impact our progress because we are already limited by the drip-feeding of Gilded Crests. Not to mention that we Delvers are already at the disadvantage of not having a catch-up mechanism for Gilded crests if we miss a week.
This in turn means that it “opens” up the possiblity for Blizzard to “wink” at those players that you mention in your second part of your post and which I mentioned. By delaying when Delves will start dropping Hero items, it means that raiders and M+ers now no longer need to infes- sorry, I mean expand their progress in content that we do.
That is also my opnion: the fact that it used to be available and now an artificial time gate is put on, is something I’m not fond of.
Whichever way one chooses to progress is not a discussion I will get involved in. I like to partake in all progression of the game: delves, m+ and raids. So for me personally this is just a silly added boundary that was not necessary in my opinion.
And again: this post was there to just make people aware they should not summon Ky’veza in their delves before they unlock renown 2 :). (And to do a little complaint on not liking the change :P)
But they opened delve t8 a week early so we can get a choice from 3 Hero track items straight-away. This is better than map giving garbage trinket for the first three weeks anyway!
1500 is free bonus from your first one, so 6900 remaining.
Those who have enough rerolls can do it with 23 t11 or 35 t8. Which is actually more realistic than it seems. I have 4 “main” characters that I will set usted until rank 2, 3 more who can do 4 t11 each without too much trouble and 10 who can do 4 t 8 each so, doing 17 is easy. That’s 29 to prepare to prepare and then 16 for the mains or 45 in total - less than 8 - 10 hours which is a lot but doable.
The delvers map is a big source of gilded crests you use for crafting and you need to get everything up to hero level atleast once to unlock the gilded crest conversion so it does bite into it
just not as bigly
I also noticed that we cannot buy crafting sparks of the coins of merit (my vault contained only trash)
For me this is a point that a lot of people are missing. To get the 10 bonus gilded crests you need the bounty map. If you only play one or two characters you will not be able to reach rank 2 in the journey - hence no bonus gilded crests this week.
This means that you would probably unlock it next week, bringing your total gilded crests to 52 - 8 short of being able to craft a max level item, as well as missing out on the hero level drop.
I do mention this in the quote;
maybe when we reach rank 2 (iirc the one it was gated behind)
but even then its not a guarantee we’ll get it from the miniboss drop I think and I can imagine people would just try and waste 1500 undercoin in the process
