After latest fixes in solo mechanics, finally, started feeling ok (I’m around 595ilvl) outside a few certain mobs. Fortunately, we are having millions hp, so can take a hit of millions on defensive cd.
15 ilvls definitely changed my experience.
Some parts are still not fun and looks ill-designed, but now it’s easier to walk through them without relying on a cheese on every single pack.
There still are design problems. Unavoidable damage on some bosses/heralds is not good for many classes. The fact that you can just skip any mob you are having problems with invis potion solves this problem, but it’s not fun. Many pools require too many interrupts to feel ok, they not look like they are designed with solo classes with long interrupt in mind (you can solve it by reseting fights, pulling to a column to loss of sight, etc.), but it’s not fun, thanks that casts were cut in damage, but it does not solve the design problem.
I have finished T11 solo while being well below 600ilvl recommended for T8, but it was not fun and it required “smart” use of “unexpected mechanics”,
Being able to finish T11 on low ilvl character does not immediately imply that delves are well-designed and well-balanced. I’d even claim it’s quite the opposite.
Solo’d 4 again today t8. No problem tbh but I will say that I do have a feeling they are a bit harder then yday and day before. And I did die 3 times in Underkeep which had not happend before, I just left since that boss with all those ice thingies was just a bit too much for my taste today
Don’t listen to him… his only goal in life is to hit F5 on the forum to refresh the page and refute everything people come up with. He’s probably targeting a moderator or some other wannabe rank
Majority of those people enter Delve 8 with 560 ilvl and freshly 80 lvl and since they wipe …anything else beside them is at fault .
There is a huge factor with the mentality of most people .
Look at twitch , many people i watched try Delves solo and don’t even bring a health potion that heal for 3 million health … i was writing to someone about the health potion and were saying they didn’t even know about it … . Yes a potion that can determine the outcome an play a huge factor in a wipe situation …and people don’t know about it …
So yes for me In Order to do a 8 delve you must know the abilities of the boss and create a plan how to counter .
And the last one . Majority of the people don’t even know how to use correctly Bran . That’s say a lot(*
People don’t put in the time anymore to discover things and try stuff out.
They need a guide to be told what to do. Unfortunately this is a rampant thing within the WoW community.
If anything, I think that the first two days with non-existant difficulty of party delves is what set this expectation. I absolutely can understand the feeling of people who missed this train and now feel that they are robbed.
Implementing such a huge change of difficulty midseason is really not good, and blizzard definitely should have tested party delves before the release.
It’s not midseason; it’s just a few days in. Should it have been necessary? No.
It would’ve been better if it worked as intended from the get-go. Of course.
But that doesn’t make people any less entitled, to be fair.
By midseason I mean “not between seasons”.
Those who had time could get most if not all they needed from delves with zero difficulty by running in a party.
It does not feel good for those, who now can’t complete them.
Hmm, did 1 bountiful T8 solo today in the morning on my enhance. Wasnt much different from yesterday. damage incoming is a bit less. Still rough though.
Same technique as yesterday. Pull ad from range with flameshock(any low dps range ability will do) and let Brann take over aggro. wait with actual damage a bit to maximise Branns aggro time. Its not that hard. Some boss aoe, you got to using def cds and heal you have. But generally its perfectly doable.
Then the rest of the 3 T8s today we did in a 4 man party. Blood DK, Ret pala, windwalker and me on enhance sham.
It was perfectly fine. Just takes a while because mobs are very tanky. It is better than yesterday for sure.
Now in my personal opinion, Things still hit too hard in T8s. I am 605. I cant just straight up group a few adds and kill em dead without relying on Brann to do most the work. or blow all offensive CDs. Which results these delves being a boring chore. And some of the rares still have 2 mio dot ticks.
Now everybody saying it is completely easy, since I read it in here “I did on my ret, on my tank” bla. some classes have a way easier time than others. That is just fact. Ret has a toolkit that allows them to have an easy time. Some others dont have that. Tanks also benefit alot from their general def and sustain.
the experience in t8 delves varies from class to class. including different specs aswell.
I have also managed to do t8 delves solo, starting out with 580 ilvl gear. But that is playing on my main that i have played for 15 years, using all damage and crowd control abilities to the full, planning every pull very carefully, and respeccing myself or Brann as needed.
All of this pushes me more than last time I did M+ seriously.
I am guessing most of those who think it is fine now as it is are next week onto M+ or mythic raiding. So hands up guys, who here see themselves using high tier delves as a means of gearing their main in 5-6 weeks? Genuinely curious.
Yes. I think that it would be the best if for now blizzard would accept current delves as is (or roll them back to their original state with party faceroll) and focus on making season 2 delves well-balanced and interesting from the start. I don’t think that they were tested and designed well and hotfixing now can hardly undo the damage.
Just for context, You party up your gonna have a bad time of it. I did 6 runs on a 8 and 5 times we didnt get past the first door, you know how it gose it desends into name calling and people losing there minds. To say it was easy isnt true. HOWEVER, it can be done on my 6th try we got a grp togeather we took it slow and everyone did there job and it was fine…
What I think we have hear, is the “Pull all the things” type of guys losing there minds that they can’t “pull all the things” and get away with it. Its hard for sure, but take your time and do your class job and your gonna be fine.
Thanks for that, Didn’t know they changed anything. So couldn’t do teir 4 as cat can now do teir 6 as cat But I would say solo I would like to see a 10-15% decrease in elites and bosses health. That would make it perfect or close to it imo.
I still think they should make them solo only in the future.
Or at least: Don’t allow progression with a group: No leveling Brann (or future companions), no advancing the track, no gear. Cosmetics could still drop, shards and such is fine. But nothing more. Group version should be for fun.
Imo anyway.
That will give them a more narrow field to focus on when it comes to balancing.
