Delves give wrong Item Level reward

What even is the Point in having Delves 8+, when you need to engage with content you’re avoiding with Delves, to actually do it.

It seems like that Blizzard added some high tier Delve Rewards, which aren’t actually meant for the people running Delves. They’re meant as extra Rewards that Heroic Raiders and M+ Players can go and try to claim. Because only they have the Item Level to do the content.

Except the gear you get from delves allows you to do that content. You dont need mythic raid gear to do a +12 delve.

Tier 10 Delves are meant for 623+

Which is gear that requires Gilded Harbinger Crest to upgrade to, which are obtained from Mythic Raids or M+8 Dungeons

Delves only goes to 11, which is ?? Zekvir

While that is a guideline much like Torghast you can do that below that ilvl. We are digressing away from the discussion that was a lvl 8 delve is a faceroll in comparison to HC raiding.

A Tier 8 Delve also gives much lower item level than a Heroic Raid, so it makes sense it’s easier.
Tier 8 delves gives 603, Heroic Raids gives between 613 and 619

Sure, but 2 delves with a combined time of anout 30 mins guves you a guaranteed ilvl of 616. 8 delves gives you a choice of 3 616 ilvl items. It may take slightly longer, but you an soft cap your toon at 616ilvl with minimal effort.

Gearing up the way you’re suggesting would take 15 weeks, if you actually got an item you could use every week, which is unlikely.

I just don’t see why they wouldn’t make all the content available to playes playing it. You can use the previous Delves items to gear up, to do the next Tier of Delves… Untill you reach Tier 8, at which point progression stops and you need to go engage with other forms of gameplay to do the last Delves.

So people who doesn’t engage with Delves, but instead does Mythic Raid or M+ can easily go and claim Rewards from the Delves. But the people playing Delves, can’t go and easily claim the rewards from Raids or M+

A way to fix this, would be to bind the Delve Tiers to Brann’s level. So people doing Mythic Raids and M+ Dungeons, would still need to run hundreds of Delves to level up Brann, to reap the Rewards, same as people who does Delves as their primary content.

I already don’t bother with raiding. Been there, done that, and my schedule doesn’t really allow it. Delves fill my need for character progression, and it fills it very well.

I do think however that Blizzard should do something with T9-T11 Delves apart from the achievement, because those are quite frankly, dead content.

My main is 612 ilvl soley from doing delves. I stopped playing retail because I think this patch got boring pretty fast, but thats for another debate.

My point is that if delves drop better gear than HC raiding then what would the point in raiding be? People choose the path of least resistance, which would be delves considering how easy they are.

So, you’re still 11 item levels below the next tier of Delves, which isn’t even the highest tier. Which you cannot get from doing Delves. You can only get those item levels from either hoping for a weekly Vault item or Engage with Mythic Raid and M+8 Dungeons

I’m 612 myself from doing Delves… And that’s why I know there’s suddenly just a stop, that prevents further progression.

And thats fine. I am in the same boat. But they should at least try to match the difficulty of the content. Blizzards aim was not to kill raiding because delves are a faceroll (at least i would hope not)

You may aswell give HC lvl gear to WQ’s if we are going down that road because delves are marginally harder than a WQ only it takes 15 mins instead of 2

If people are only doing the content for the gear. There is a foundamental problem with the game, IMO.

Its a guideline. You don’t NEED to have that required ilvl. Loads of people have completed above level 8 delves with WAY LESS ilvl than whats suggested.

Classes are also not balanced. What a Paladin can do, a Rogue can’t immitate.

I don’t disagree with that, but its been a thing since Wrath with the Gearscore addon.

I think you are trying too hard to justify giving people better gear than HC raiding for what is essentially walk in the park content.

I will end this here because we are going in circles.

This is incredibly true. Once Brann is levelled a bit, and you’re familiar with the mobs, the suggested iLvl is effectively meaningless. If you have a fresh 80 and buy renown and/or undercoin gear to get to around iLvl 570, the tier 8’s are a walk in the park when Brann is levelled.

No it wouldn’t, because then we’d have to play higher level delves when t9 is already hard for some classes.
It is perfect the way it is now.

Haven’t they matched the content though?
Bountiful T8 Delves give the same i track gear as Normal Raids (Champ), and with a slight chance (Delvers Bounty) of giving Hero Gear. That sounds about right to me.
My issue is that T9-T11 is dead content.

As for the difficulty, most players (and specs) would not consider a T9+ Delve a walk in the park. Dedicated raiders are not the majority of the playerbase. You and me who frequent the forums are not in the majority of the playerbase.

Yes, once you have decent enough ilvl and are accustomed to a T8 Delve, it becomes easy (especially if you outgear it, as pretty much anyone with ilvl 600+ does), but so is it with any content.

If you think a T8 or T9 is on the same lvl as HC raiding, I won’t bother responding further.
