I have done non-bountiful delves and they drop 2 crests too. Can do your weekly cap in delves too if you want. What I do when I play since I have kind of given up on m+ this time around.
It’s a lot of delves though, 45 for weekly cap. Wish they upped the crest reward in bountiful.
Even just giving 3/bountiful would give you 84/week if you did all 4 each day.
As it is now you need 16 extra delves/week to cap if you do all bountiful each day.
uhm, on my fury warrior delves are even more of a joke than as disc lol

Yes delves gives you free gear but remember
you are not taking into higher mplus for your gear but they look at your score
and if you have 620plus from delves
but 0 score in dungeons
most likely you not going to be happy
so right now even if you think 2-6 is useless for gear
you should do them simply to build your score.
yeah, that’s the main problem I think. My main is still below 600 ilvl after over 10 keys and 2 normal raid clears. It’s a bit weird, that I’m lower ilvl than someone, who only did delves. Also, it’s hard now to see, who actually has experience, and plays well, because ilvl is not an indicator anymore. I think maybe they need to make delves harder, so it’s more in line with the difficulty of other content at that gear level.
I ran my first T8 Delve at iLevel 567 - the trash seems harder than the end boss - but Bran in Heal Mode with a BDK is pretty smooth - the end chest gear - bit of a lottery - but not a bad way to learn your class and gear up a little before considering harder content
That said I’m not looking forward to trying delves with DPS classes - I imagine it will be a little more challenging
As a healer i can tell you that even a +2 as PUG is unbelievably more difficult than a Delve8. So i think you do not really talk out of experience 
I’ve only pugged 2 keys:
The rest was with at least 3 others in the group that I know, max of 1 random dps to fill up. Done 11 keys in 2~5 range with the format, so that’s my experience. I’d equate +2 keys with T4 delves, and T8 with +5~6 keys in terms of difficulty, though this varies per spec ofc. I’m pretty sure if you play a healer, tank, or dps with lots of utility/self-sustain that delves are slightly easier.
The good thing about Delves: I can run them alone every time.
In M+ I’m playing queue simulator again, because my spec is not S-Tier.
