I guess you missed the point. Its not about how many runs you should do to get your gear, its about how many runs you should compare, to get a clear picture of the rng statistics.

No, I understood the point. But my point is that this is not a math lesson on statistics and probability. It’s a video game. And therefore the numbers should translate to an enjoyable and satisfying play experience. If they don’t, then they’re no good.
You can’t just say that the sample size needs to be bigger. By saying that you’re saying that the player needs to play according to the math to see the brilliance of the design. But it’s the other way around. It’s the math and the statistics that has to work for the player. If the player is only doing 22 runs and not 200, then the loot RNG has to work on a smaller sample size.

i mean - if statistic 101 is to hard for some people then its their problem.

i get it that people expet to be full bis gear in 1 week - but no company want that as they woudl jsut unsub.

there are withough doubt certain algorythms runing in background - but if they will play for 6 months of season - they will eventually be fully geared.

You can have RNG, if it’s reasonable. If it’s a dice, it can be a 6-sided dice. But Blizzard gives us a 12-sided dice to roll. Blizzard’s RNG errs toward a loss rather than a win, because if you win too much, then you’re “done”. So Blizzard gives players a lot of unfavorable RNG, because then players have to do the content for longer. That’s why the loot tables are needlessly big, why there’s no RNG protection, pseudo RNG, and why everything is a loot box to be opened.

I’m not sure about this. The vault gives options, and is now a bad-luck protection 2.0-system. The gearing system is designed to get you up to like 603-610 ilvl quite rapid, after which the non-RNG updating mechanism comes into play.

I’d argue that it’s the least form of bad-RNG we have seen in years. I’d say that BFA was and still is the king of bad-RNG.

You’re saying the quiet part out loud. Which is my point.

The loot system (in Delves and elsewhere) isn’t designed to be rewarding or satisfying for the player, but to retain them as long as possible, which is accomplished best by giving them the least amount of reward and satisfaction whilst always teasing the prospect of a lot more if they just try again…and again.

It’s diabolical and on that note I echo the OP’s sentiment that I know the loot is RNG but…

And I don’t think that’s unreasonable feedback to give. It has merit.

Ooft! For me Legion sucked Getting your BiS trinket from the weekly world boss that was on a monthly rotation to see that it didn’t titanforge to extreme levels xD

In general it just felt bad for me getting loot, because you knew “oh… nice! an upgrade… but… it didn’t titanforge… go again”

True, true, wasn’t all too pretty either. But at least one could get a random legendary or weapon-appearance and the previous bad-luck would be forgotten, temporarily.

Yeah i agree, my main character seemed to be getting alot of trinkets. then i level my alt. Trinkets raining.

I have used 51 coffer keys and i have gotten 24 trinkets that are epic going from veteran to hero. My alt 8 trinkets, i have sold some so probably more. With opening 22 restored coffer keys.
I have an average of ~30% droprate on trinkets in delves, one week i got 2 out of 3 for trinket in the greater vault delve section.
My alt gets alot more Delvers bounties so now it has better gear than my main. Doing 22 compared to 51… And i have gotten more items from different rewards on my main than on my alt. STOP THE CASINO GAMBLING s.h.i.t. cant even use words that are not even that bad… feels so bad.
ALso why is Leatherworking inapropriate name for a guild banktab?
