Came across my first Shadowrealm feature/phase of a delve today and all I can say, is I had to wear my monitor onto the front of my face, just to be able to see what I was doing.
I don’t want to have to manually adjust the brightness of my monitor, just for a single phase of a delve. But I do imagine this is a dice roll for all the delves within the game at the moment.
It’s a bit annoying to say the least, but I hope at least they can do something to increase the light around your character, especially since you’re meant to be holding some amazing light to help you dash through the shadow pools to remove them.
For me the lighting got better after killing the first totem thingie and going down the stairs.
Not good, but enough better I could get some distance to the monitor.
I never noticed any difference, until I killed the delve boss and then “let there be light” and I think I got a minor tan from the brightness being returned to normal.
I just hope I don’t have to come across that affix or whatever they’re referred too for Delves, where the conditions will randomize.
Two Arathi “Oh thank the light you’re here, along with that dwarf who insists on standing on everything you’re trying to ineract with… (violently shoves Brann out the way). Here. Take a look in this chest and take the superlicious artifact we carefully and painstakingly carried here to aid you in your journey against the shadow. It will help you burn off the shadow, shoot forward and float safely down if you should miss the next column of light. Hood luck adventurer, may the light of Beledar be with you…”
You rummage in the chest find a Zippo pocket lighter.
What kind of eye problems do you have? Curious if I’ll face similar issues then, but hopefully not. Is it similar to the torches used in Vault of the Wardens?
I have enough suffering from fast paced visuals(which made me realise why I hate small scale PvP…) I didn’t actually know I had a focus handicap on top of just being nearsighted, until my optricial told me like 2 years ago. It all made sense then!
When you get older, your eyesight just isn’t like it used to be xD
But I was having to squint the whole time to be able to see what I was doing. Sure, you can turn your brightness to counter this problem, but that shouldn’t really have to be the solution to this.
I don’t mind things, when they are set in a dark environment, but you shouldn’t have to strain your eyes to see what you’re doing/walking.
I even stopped multiple times, just to let my eyes relax and focus again.
It’s why I mentioned having the character be lightened by the flame you’re carrying, could assist in making it a bit less strained on the eyes.
Why don’t you want to adjust the brigtness? I mean no offense, but I don’t see this as being any different than the people terrified of spiders, they have to go in their settings and turn it on.
See this is a problem for me, because I’m one of those people who want more ambient stuff, like darker nights and that’s gonna be a problem when people “don’t want to manually adjust” the settings, because that means they’ll keep the generic level of ambiance and that is very boring to me.
Because it leaves thing looking a little like the Maw, a little fuzzy at the edges and just blurry enough to trigger a head ache and a little background nausea. But that’s just me
Idk I think it’s kind of immersive to be in the dark and grab on every bit of light, even if you can barely see anything. I’m not sure how bad it is for you, but make sure you have nameplates, so you see mobs.
If they had a setting to increase brightness when doing into “dark” areas automatically and then going back to normal, when you leave, I wouldn’t have any cause for concern.
But I shouldn’t have to manually adjust the brightness of my monitor to counteract it, if you know what I mean
Oh 100% I agree with you, but I wasn’t expecting myself to have to almost be licking my monitor to see what I’m doing xD
