It looks like the invisibility aura that Ve’nari creates to guide you through the dangers of the maw is slightly buggy. Enemies sometimes start attacking you randomly even if you are within the aura and just follow her. I had this on multiple characters but not on all of them. On my DK I needed three tries to get through. I got attacked every time but I was able to stay alive on the third try. I can provide video evidence if necessary.
