Hi, - (returning player, only subscribed so locked at 110)
as I’m progressing through the demon hunter campaign I wanted to check out the garrison feature - took the quest in blasted lands followed it and when I’m supposed to destroy 3 big red orbs a npc is using to summon something with the help of an (orc) npc only… I don’t have the quest… If i talk to the orc there is no bubble and if i stray away from the npcs i get teleported back to them and the quest items are not clickable… is there any way to reset the quest without losing it? tyvm in advance for any anwswers.

I dont know the solution to your problem, but you can skip parts if you force yourself into wod … for example mage portal, go to the beach there … and you can start with garrison skiping the pre quests …

specifically - after burning the huts of the orcs behind the portal the company stops just before proceeding to a pyramid/zigurat. I tried doing the quest with a different character and got past that point (the next quest is the arena challenge). @jin - I’ve done it and the area around the portal seems instanced and as I’m half way through that questline in the open world I can’t pick up the quest as I already have it but the Npcs aren’t there. the enemy npcs are, but other than killing them i can’t interract with them. If however I go to draenor via blasted lands then I get immediately teleported to the NPC location (above zigurat) but still can’t talk to the orc to trigger the quest line to continue…

There is nothing special about Demon Hunters, btw, in case that’s what you suspect. I have gone through to get a garrison on my DH with no problem.

Also - addons can sometimes block interactions with NPCs. Try after disabling all addons.
Also try logging out and logging in again.
And if all that fails, you can get past the Tanaan bit and get to Draenor to start setting up your garrison either with a mage portal or with the Timeless Isle sjil to Gorgrond.
Tyvm for looking into this, and well it seems i have the quest but dont…
meaning: there isnt a quest on my log/map but if i take the portal from BL i get teleported to Ariok just before the quest (but he has no bubble to start it), and if i walk too far from the party it teleports me back to it.
I’ve travelled to draenor via mage portal but am not sure where to go to pick up the garrison quest. If i go to the dark portal the quest givers are there (looking at the fight) but not for me.
Right there is your problem. If that quest is not in your log, you don’t have the quest.
Do you have Draenor Flying? If you do, just fly to your garrison’s location in Shadowmoon (or Frostfire, if Horde) and you will meet up with the NPCs that will give you the quest to start.
If you don’t have flying, I can log in and give you a lift. It’s awkward to get around from Ashran.
solved - tyvm (I was going to alliance hub with a horde…)
As to the quest , it wasnt in my log but the quest giver would teleport me back to him if i walked to far from him.
