Demon Hunter Leveling path from 12 to 60 lvl?

Hi, I am new to dragonflight and i want to level a demon hunter. After completing first leveling zone, i was directed to dalaran and then directed to level in legion zones. Do i have to follow this direction or is it more efficient to level on another path? If so, which directions can you suggest?
Thank you.

Are you a new or returning player? If you’re new then the game semi-forces you to level in BFA zones on your first character.

If you’ve played before you might be able to talk to Chromie in Stormwind to pick a timeline to level through.

I’m not an expert on leveling efficiency but I hear people level in WoD because the zones have lots of bonus objectives that give lots of EXP.

My advice is play whatever you deem fun.

From Korayth’s armoury, I see a Level 40 achieve in 2015, so I’m guessing the game is treating him as a returning player, with the freedom to use Chromie Time.

Korayth, Chromie is standing under a tree outside the door of Stormwind Embassy, behind Stormwind Lake. It’ll show on your map. If you talk to her, I’m guessing she will let you choose your expansion.

Is WoD faster? I’d say yes, maybe a little, if you know the shortcuts, which as Chronormi says, are mostly in the form of the Bonus areas. But it’s really not a big gain.

I’m surprised you were “directed” to Legion. I hadn’t heard of that happeing to returning players.

If you want to change expansion, you can, but it’s not going to make a big difference.

Well the Demon Hunters finish their starting zone just in time for the Varian/Vol’jin funeral, where from there they continue to Dalaran. One can just ignore it once they’re in Stormwind/Orgrimmar but it’s probably best to continue until getting to Dalaran to prevent phasing issues.

Im a returning player as you guessed it right. I like a smooth questing and also lore wise fun zones. I also want to unlock the new races eventualy, but i think i need to reach max level to do that.

You shouldn’t actually need to. You should just need to achieve a character of the level of the expansion. But I can’t be sure of every case.

Wowhead has a Guide to the Allied Races, For example, a Highmountain Tauren should just need a level 45 Horde character.
