I would say dk, but both are viable
Play which you prefer.
Reason: If you base a choice like this off what some random said then thats just dumb.

DH if you prefer mobile tank.
DK if you prefer lot of self healing.
Heres my opinion:
Whichever you like the most, be it cosmetics or general taste of race/faction.
The reason for it? The moment you follow a guide, you must stick with it UNTIL Blizzard decides to “nerf” the class that said random guide told you to play and then you’ll have to restart from the beginning.
It’s guides like those that leave players who want to enjoy a game normally left out because someone wants you to play a SPECIFIC RACE and CLASS, Titans FORBID you from EVER doing ANYTHING that the guide doesn’t tell you!
This is BS, you can find guides even for the most underplayed/under performing specs.
You are not “forced” to play Meta and swap every nerf bat that happens, you can stick with a class during ups and downs if you enjoy it.
Again, you can play whatever you want, is not “guides” fault if some specs have bad stigmas like feral Druid.
You could do CE as a Feral Druid as well, but of course you can’t expect to have an easier life compared to a meta spec.
If you want to enjoy the game you can, but you can’t expect people to be like “please bless us with your presence”, it does not work like that, especially if you play in pugs with an heavy stigmatized spec.
Back to the OP, they are a bit different in playstyle.
Try both, and pick the one that suits you better.
The fewer Demon Hunters, the better.
Go with DK.

Both are fine. I think DH is way cooler from a gameplay pov though and the solo gameplay is much faster and more active. DK is slooooooow man. I fall asleep while playing it. They need far more mobilty skills/passives.

I like the self heals and all the abilities DKs get. DH tank just feels very bland to me.

And yes, not the guides fault, of which I agree and I’m not sayin’ for people to beg on their knees for a persons “presence” as you say, all I’m saying is… Give the person a chance to prove their worth if it’s not workin’ well, practice a bit more and then try again on a later date.
Again, the tl;dr version of what I’m saying is:
Play what class you want and enjoy the game.
None of them and that’s coming from an ex DH and DK main.
Both are classes which are susceptible to mega nerfs and as a DK I know how hard these nerfs come.
Save yourself some stress and play with a traditional tank.
In pugs “try again on a later date” means that the group failed, and that the group leader wasted time, that is usually what people pugging try to avoid.
Regardless of what you wanna play, pug is not the best environment to ask for a chance.
depends on who you happen to Pug with … most people however do seem to just want to do the thing and go… these days in pugs though…
BFA was a royal nightmare as a pugger with no contacts… its why i didnt even last 3 months into the expansion before i gave up.
DK because there’s some way better looking plate sets ingame than there are leather and transmog is super important.
