Demon hunter's damage source question

School Physical

ok so it interacts with their spell abilities making them physical, this is the only thing that makes sense for now

disrupt is also added on the affected effects on the list of applied auras

Thats why I said only testing it with and without the talent would show if theres any difference with grounding otherwise they might have changed how disrupt works in general with relations to grounding from its core.

So if you have a friend or if anyone else is interested in testing, feel free to do it and say what the result was :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

I dont have any friends :3

But Ill test it later when Im free by bothering some random batman in city

Im pretty sure that is it tho and if its something all dhs use its not relevant rly other than to know that we cant ground their kicks no more

Im your friend

Wouldnt that mean that a chaosbolt (school chaos) need to be “physical” too?

Thats where it becomes abit odd. On chaos bolt wowhead it just says:
“School: Fire, Nature, Frost, Shadow, Arcane”

Which would most likely mean the physical was not added onto it and coded that way.

trust me the school of the effect doesnt matter. wether the ability is a spell or not is what it comes down to for grounding.

it doesnt have relevancy in regards to grounding but “Any Means Necessary” only effects damage anyways.

Has the aura with disrupt which could mean it changes depending on it. Also said I cba testing it since I dont have 2 accounts I can do reliable test and wont just ask random ppl xd

Dont think theres any interrupt that says if its a “spell” or not in general, well, except counterspell which has it in its name but nothing otherwise in wowhead x)
But I havent either tried out before or even now if any interrupt would get blocked by grounding totem.

Basically, where do you find if something is a spell or not?
Your example of asphyxiate I know its a spell, but I cant find out where it says its a spell. Atleast not on wowhead xd

its like that for any ability in the game. not sure how to find out but generally its logic. if something is exclusively a physical act like mortal strike its ofc not a spell. something that has a magical effect but the action itself is physical its most likely not a spell as well. thats the case for dh interrupt and it kinda makes sense. the dh hits the enemy with his fist and to the fist magic is applied.

Well I do agree its logic mostly since wowhead dont rly say it but when someone have said they could use grounding on disrupt before I would have to see it at that point of view.
Kinda where most of my discussion is for xD

If school dont rly have anything to do with it, then I would also guess The Hunt work the same way. The dot is something added after and the “charge” is physical but nature damage so BoP should block it for example.

So I understand what you are pointing towards =p

nono. i dont know how all these other interactions are explained.

my point with the magic school is only towards grounding.

Nvm then, I still understand your meaning but atleast in terms of grounding XD

in shadowlands grounding ate dh kick, in df it doesnt cause whatever reason

only thing that rly matter for me here
