Denouncing Perroy and The Rotgarde

Hello Argent Dawn,

I bet you clicked on this topic expecting more toxicity and vitriol. Alas, that is not the case. I just wanted to take the time out of my day, on a more serious note for once, to thank the people who i feel deserve it as we may all seem a bit ungrateful at times.

It has been a year since I’ve joined the Rotgarde, some have left and we have many new faces but it’s never been as good as it is now. This is what I take from it:

First of all, I’d like to thank the man in charge, Perroy, for creating a safe community where everyone is welcome, for hosting events and creating rp for our guilds and anyone willing/curious enough to attend. You’re a great guild leader!

Secondly, I’d like to thank the people at his side helping him out with the logistics of managing such a community, namely :

Pullo/Bones for spear-heading the Hand of Conquest and helping out the Rotgarde when needed.

Dreadbore and Skabb for helping make this guild what it is now, you’re both wonderful officers. (skabb u should take a break sometimes, sleep is important)

Eirdarias for carrying the Highblood Myrmidons despite the sudden and unannounced departure of your assistant. Keep it up, the guild’s future looks bright with you at it’s head.

By this point I’ve realised I can’t mention everyone, it will take too long. You’re all great people, I’ve good things to say about everyone, but I’m probably too lazy.

Don’t let what people tell you about these guilds influence or cloud your mind, a year ago I was told the same things. It was all a lie, I’ve never been in a community/guild where tensions were this low. I’ve been in several guilds, none of the banter here is mean-spirited as you might find in other guilds.

In any case, before I joined the guild, Perroy was already a divisive figure. Perhaps people feel threatened by their presence? Or maybe they just hate what they cannot understand? Is it jealousy? There are many reason - I’m sure you all have your awnsers… Or what you persuaded yourself to believe.

Just remember that it’s a human being behind the screen, and they’re probably friendlier than you imagine. Don’t take their IC behaviour/rudeness to OOC, as many seem to often do. It’s just roleplay, this is just a video game.

Who is Perroy

For real though, I’ve only been part of HoC for a month or so, but it’s been so much fun. Had a blast meeting so many other RPers and creating brilliant stories with them. Being able to mingle with the Rotgarde (who, like many others, I had reservations about due to rumours on the server) has been absolutely lovely too.

Special mention to Toq and Skabb who have made the last few months of RP so amazing.

And to Apawi, scariest Tauren on the server.

Edit: Happy Birthday to Lawson. How could I almost forget!
