Deserter debuff need a upgrade

3K honorable kills, playing the most faceroll of faceroll specs and classes that exist currently. “FEAR ROOT CHAOS BOLT FEAR CHAOS BOLT ROOT CHAOS BOLT FEAR CHAOS BOLT” Lal.

I rest my case.

i dont play that minigame that you pretend to be good at

as i said before while you where afk grinding grand marshal i was in og naxx sperg

…and still you bring up irrelevancies in a thread discussing players leaving R A N D O M battlegrounds. You’re not very good at this internet thing, are you?

at least i dont join in preteding to be a pro becouse you have the only pvp achivemt that did not required no skill at all

You have zero clue how hard it was to grind Grand Marshal back in vanilla. I don’t know what videos you watched or which players you knew, but they certainly weren’t me. I’m done engaging with you.

grand marshall in vanilla is like getting rank 7 in classic in any decent server.
so sorry you are no more the top dog that you think to be

Yes and no, I have thought about this alot.

If you look at any other game, ppl GG when they know they have lost. I usually never leave BG’s, with one exception only, and that is when enemy team honor farm, that’s the only thing that triggers me.

I think you could make a 2 hour deserter debuff, but only if u leave within 10 minutes of joining. If I join a WSG, and we get behind 2-0 and the other team just takes our flag, and stand in front of GY farming, then I don’t want a debuff for leaving.

So I’ll say after if you leave within 8-15 minutes (depending on the BG), then 2 hour debuff. If you leave after that, NP for me.

If only half of the restrictions supposed in the OP would be implemented one of two things would happen:

  1. The Q times would explode since a large portion of the players that currently Q up and enable BGs to even open would no longer do it. Is it an improvement of your experience if you have fewer leavers but have to wait 30min+ for each game? I would argue: No.

  2. Instead of leaving, people would just leave one hand on the mouse to run in circles until the match is over. Depending on the way you move your mouse, this might not even be a visible difference from their usual PvP proficiency.

Here is the thing: These BGs are NOT solo-content. They are GROUP content. If you offer the ability for solo-players to join them, the experience will end up sucking to a large degree. For PvE Blizzard can try and fix this by lowering the difficulty. If you look at the discussion about M+ leavers you can see very clearly that there is absolutely NO DIFFERENCE between PvE and PvP here for content that did not get nerfed into the ground.

Obviously, for PvP Blizzard cannot lower the difficulty. Which is why random BGs as a solo-Qer suck and put you at the most miserable end of the system. Just like a random DPS trying to find a M+ group.

Applying restrictions does NOT improve the quality of/experience in PUG content. PUG content has all of these drawbacks by definition. Don’t like it? Make a group of people you KNOW. There you can apply any rules you like. You can totally invite 4 players to run BGs with and tell them: “Dude, if you leave just because we are short 2 players at the start, i will kick you and not invite you for 2 hours!”.

Do not try to improve PUG experiences. You can’t. It’s like trying to make water dry so taking a shower is faster. You can freeze it or use sand instead, sure - but that will NOT improve the experience of people who wanted to feel water on their skin.

Just an fyi, but you have been reported for your in-game mail. I don’t mind a bit of back and forth in a debate, I’m usually the first to dish it out, but telling folks to hang themselves and shoot their families is a bit beyond the pale. You are a disturbed individual.
