I recently got the Desertwing Hunter and I encounter some weird and very unpleasant animation issues. I think the mount is, maybe, lacking some animation blends ?
Here is a video showing the difference of blending in animations of the Desertwing Hunter and Emerald Hippogryph for comparison.
On the Desertwing Hunter the animations transition very abruptly.

Also, in the case of the blood elf, I think the sitting position is really not appropriate to this mount, the legs are very stretched, it leads to some clipping with the wings.

The sitting position of the Emerald Hippogryph looks way better and avoid clipping in the wings.
