Design issues with DH detailed feedback

I’d like to add here all the design issues I notice with DH.

  1. Demon Blades sucks. I like pressing Demon Bite. Not having a main attack just feels bad.

  2. Glaive tempest kind of sucks too. I don’t like how it stays in position when you move, and in general I wish this was another cool melee ability, not some weird aoe glaive throw.

  3. Immolation aura lowers your dps so doesn’t get pressed in pve unless you have nothing else to press.

  4. Trail of ruin gets replaced by Glaive Tempest and First Blood by Cycle of Hatred with Collective Anguish legendary, so my favourite skill now doesn’t get pressed. Easily the coolest animation for DH and now useless.

  5. 4 minute Metamorphosis feels terrible, our rotation is already pretty basic (although ngl, in raid as a new player I do appreciate not having to worry too much about a complicated rotation).

  6. Too many abilities on the GCD. PVP feels slow, I wish we had more melee abilities off the gcd.

  7. Havoc is fun but I’d love a 3rd new spec designed from the ground up to be a really cool, action game feeling pvp spec with a high skill ceiling. There’s nothing wrong with DH having an accessible spec, but I really think it needs to have 3 like all other classes. Allowing DH mains to have more depth in the class, and a spec to go to for being able to pull off high skill, high reward plays.

Venthyr DH problems.

  1. Venthyr Door of Shadows cast time is rubbish. I hardly press this. Please reduce cast time on Door of Shadows.

  2. Sinful brand is pretty damn boring too.

  3. Eye Beam Metamorphosis Eye Beam combo has issues lining up. Feels kinda bad sometimes. I always throw my Metamorphosis away to burst at the start of pvp matches (problem in pvp in general, often throwing meta away to catch invis classes at start of match, door of shadows cast time reduction could solve this) instead of being able to save it as a defensive.

  4. Thrill seeker has issues with ramp up. The same issue that just got fixed with SP. Only feels useful in long boss fights like raid.

Woah big disagree, having 1 less button to press will help you with that Carpal Tunnel. As DHs we probably have the highest APM of all classes with 0% downtime.

Demon Blades should be a passive, though, we should get Rage just like a Warrior.

Glaive Tempest should be an AoE that follows the Demon Hunter imo. Just like Immo aura.

You use it with Demoblades because more downtime.

Get Chaos Theory, you want that for ST anyway. Then you won’t use GT/Cycle.

Agreed. And we’re the only class who has a 4 min cd on our offensive. It should be 2 or 3 minutes.

Either Darkness, Nether Walk or both should be OFF gcd. And while at it, Nether Walk needs to be baseline because I never pick it in PVP.

I mean we’ve already seen they can’t even make Havoc decent.

Wish we had a ranged spec.

F no, Melee has been horrible. If you’re a melee you’re just asking for trouble in raids and M+. Ranged does the same dmg while also taking far less dmg.

I dont like glaive tempest aswell … clunky but we’re forced into it … its a huge part of dps if you miss it its really bad.

One more thing.

This is purely asthetic but it does kind of bother me.

The demon we turn into when Metamorphosis. I would love to have different options for this. It would be cool, at the very least, if it had the same features as my actual player character (horns, haircut, eye options, tattoos).

But it would be really cool to have different demon options like Druids get with different cats and bears etc.

I would love my demon, when I turn Metamorphosis, to have different options so not all DH look the same when they turn Metamorphosis.
