Hello everyone,
I appeal for help.
Since I have been progressing for 2-3 years, I have never been able to have 60 fps stable in raid.
I have a config that I have updated over the years.
I recently changed cg for a 1080 amp edition (a 1080 improve in short), a ryzen 5 1600, 16 gb ddr4 2600 mhz, SSD, etc. etc.
I couldn’t wait to relaunch wow and finally go enjoy the epic battles with my guild at a normal fps rate (60+), my disappointment was huge when I finally barely exceeded 30, and barely win any if I move the graphics from 7 to 1.
I can imagine that the 20 player raid requires a lot of resources, but I am pissed off. Do you have an idea of a setting checked, an addon to remove, or just a magic recipe so I can finally enjoy the game?
FYI, my pc runs like a charm on the latest releases, batlefield, resident evil village etc.
And all my drivers are up to date.
TL DR : A pc with 1080 amp edition, Ryzen 5 1600, ddr4 16 GB 2600mhz, barely giving 30 fps + in raid.
Thx u for ur answers,
Here my Benchmark : https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/47668943
Edit: I would like to believe that my CPU is the problem, but when I play and look in the task manager, it never exceeds 30-40% of use.
Task manager shows total CPU usage which includes all cores and threads. WoW is generally single thread limited so one core maxed while others get less tasks.
Depending on your motherboard you might be able to upgrade to a newer generation Ryzen CPU which had considerable improvements in single thread performance, too.
edit: Your MSI A320M-A PRO MAX supports least 3xxx-series CPUs but it has pretty poor power components (VRM). I would stick to max 65W CPUs, eg. 3600 (not 3600X). You might be able to find them used fairly cheaply.
WoW uses up to 4 cores. One will be main, often around 100% while 3 others 40-60% depending on place in game.
The CPU for all 1600AF tested gets:
Performing below expectations (24th percentile)
And the turbo achieved is 3.35 GHz instead of 3.6GHz so you have a thermal problem with your CPU (or in rare cases VRM). This noticeably lowers it performance.
Check if all fans are working, clean all dust if any and if that doesn’t help you may need to re-paste the CPU cooler or replace it with a better one (although the stock one works fine if mounted properly with good paste).
PNY CS900
This drive is bit low too. It can be bit to full or worn off a bit.
I checked all my fans and they are clean, my cooler is new, and the temperature of my cpu is rather stable even in game.
I cannot understand why it would be in “under-mode”.
Maybe settings in the bios?
The game from the CPU side is pretty ok. It could be better but it isn’t bad either. Their limiting factor is single core performance. The game state is handled by the “main” core and it’s the one with highest, often 100% load. 3 subsequent cores are used for other tasks.
The more mobs or the more complex spell you get the more complex world state thus more pressure on the main core. That’s why Zen and Zen+ Ryzen CPUs won’t be top performers in this game. You would need newer CPUs (and strong Intel CPUs from Zen 1 era work well too).
And when “world state” was way more complex than in SL (BfA corruption) servers died when you tried any PvP between 10+ people World Boss with so many people it’s mostly server and then your CPU.
