Despite high-end pc my fps are too low

Hi guys my species are :
Ryzen 5 2600
RTX 2060 6GB
16 GB RAM G-Skill 3200 cl16
MSI X470 Gaming Plus
SSD ADATA SU 800 512GB

I have very low fps as it should be. for example in maldraxuss in covenant have average of 70 fps. On raids its even worse around 30-40 fps sometimes even less. I don’t know what may cause the problem. Changing setting to low or medium helps a little about 5-10 fps but it doesn’t solve my problem. Yes i have updated drivers and system .

Here are my wow settings (delete free space before after dot):

In games like RDR2 or witcher 3 on maxed settings i have constant 60 fps in the same resolution 1920x1080(full HD) so it’s weird if i get the same amount of fps here and in triple A games.

Single thread performance is likely bottlenecking. You can try limiting amount of addons you have as some of them can be pretty demanding. That also includes custom weakauras.

That generation of Ryzens still had relatively weak (though much improved to previous AMD offerings) single thread performance which is the most important for WoW.

  • Test on mode 7
  • Test without any addon present and active (temporarily remove them from your WoW folder)

If addons aren’t making a problem then run the game and when you have bad FPS alt-tab out and run userbenchmark while the game is running. Post the link here (you can use preformatted text option to post links).

Still does not match what the OP is reporting.

On mode 7 without addons in maldraxxus i get 100-120 fps previous 50-70 which is improvement. Also in oriboros i see around 20 fps more. however in raids i still have below 60 fps which should not happen. btw preformatted text dooesnt’ work for me.

I run benchamark while having wow in the background so it may be a little worse score.

Very high background CPU (100%).

This is the problem - some addon or some third party app goes crazy and takes all the CPU alongside WoW. WoW itself would never tak 100% of such CPU. Look in task manager for any misbehaving app and shut it down.

If that doesn’t reveal anything run Latencymon, run wow and if bad FPS show up alt-tab to latencymon to see if it’s reporting problems and check what driver/DLL it is. If it’s Nvidia then remove the drivers with DDU, update board drivers if present (like audio) and install Nvidia drivers from scratch.

it look very weird i went to korthia again without addons and with and now i have more fps with addons. And on the raid is now about 50 fps but still is should be a little bit more at least stable 60-70 in 20 man raid . I checked on task manager and the is no other program working alongside with wow. i will check also with latencymon for a moment.

Here is SS from latencymon :

It’s not clear but do the Nvidia cleanup - remove with DDU, reboot, check if there are driver updates for your motherboard audio and alike, update, then install Nvidia drivers.

unfortunatelly i have no USB right now to make BIOS update. So to do nvidia cleanup i just have to uninstall it with DDU and install again ?

You don’t have to update BIOS. Just check your board page on vendor website and check if they offer newer drivers to download for stuff like audio.

Yes. If you get any board drivers to update - update them after you removed Nvidia and before you reinstall it.

Nope, it doesnt help i went back to the same as it was at the beggining
