Am kinda new to destro and i have two questions
when is it better to use Hand of gul’dan, I have been getting to 3 shards then using it on boss fights but I seem to lack imps or sould i use it whenever i get a shard?
when is it best to use implosion? I have been using it when I get to 10 imps then using it.
It seems my dps is meh I could be doing a lot better but am not 100% sure where am going wrong
Destru is different spec, you mean demo.
Hand of guldan should only be used with 3 shards unless you play nether portal and have it active but its a talent that should br picked by experienced demonology warlocks. For new players you should go guillotine for AoE and hatred for single target, so again, hand with 3 shards.
When it comes to implosion you dont impolde in single target unless you really want to burst something down and need that Little extra damage and when it comes to AoE i impolde at least with 5 imps. You dont need to wait to have 10. In mythic + in AoE heavy situations you want to have target debuffed with houndmasters strata gem and i usually go hand, hand, implode while keeping usual rotation.
