Hi, this week Destruction warlock gets a interesting buff :
*Rain of Fire damage increased by 15%.
This buff seems necessary but not sufficient to make us competitive in MM+.
Speaking of which, the right side of the rather AOE-oriented Destruction tree looks incomplete compared to the left side. 3 nodes seem to be missing and complete the reflection of my previous posts on the fact that this tree seems unfinished, still in beta.
Finally, I find it surprising that Soulfire and Shadowburn have still not been balanced.
They represent at best 5-6% of our overall dps for a lot of points spent.
I think it is essential to reduce their cooldown and increase their damage…
Why does Soulfire have a 45s cooldown time? That’s a lot for an instant damage spell with a 3s casting time.
Destro cant compete atm in m0s what with the constant running and chain pulling.
It wont get especially better later on with the insane amount of movement needed in these new dungeons, plus mplus affixes on top.
In terms of damage Destro is doing surprisingly well on single target/bosses. That might also be because boss fights are super short atm. Still single target sustained outside of cds is “decent”.
Shadowburn will see some use if it gets a damage bump. Its amazing how many talent points this spell can potentially eat and still be forgettable. Its main use is to clip low hp mobs that wouldn’t survive until a cb lands. As it is, it somehow fights for gcds with channel demonfire and for soulshards with chaosbolt. It has no meaningful single target presence on bosses.
don’t care about how it performs in dungeons this xpack i decided to play my lock as destro and the bonus we got on rain of fire is nice no complains here, the m+ community will never be happy unless they are top of the bill.
